Going into the 8th with a 1 run lead, do we stick with, currently, our hottest pitcher( Perdomo) or do we " stíck to the plan" and use current gas can( Stammen)?
This is where AG earns his keep! Make the right decision Andy.

Gas can it is!
Promptly gives up 2 singles and is yanked for Yates.
That is a really poor strategy by AG. Now we've wasted our closer. Who will pitch the 9th in a 1 run game? Maton? Let's hope he's a better closer than set up guy.

Just a thought.....with our bad bullpen and questionable managing, do we try to set the record for players with 20+ HR's in a season?
Renfroe, Reyes already there. Machado almost, Hosmer on pace, as is Tatis and Meyers.
If Kinsler plays everyday and gets every at bat, he could get there.
The playoffs are a long shot- why not get some media coverage having 7 regulars hit 20 bombs a piece?

Funnily enough, I'm in Indonesia at the moment so won't be attending.
I know one of my neighbors ( another expat) plans on being there so will catch up with him upon my return.
As for pregame intetest, not a great deal. Wimbledon ramping up, the Premiership coming to an end, the cricket going on, tough to get any media play.

Kinsler it is looking more and more like the player we thought we signed in the offseason, the last two years he hit around. 240, he is at. 225 right now, HR wise he is more than half ways there, and he has looked good on the defensive side of the ball despite his early struggles, the only thing we could really be upset about right now is his basepaths knucklehead mistakes, but I dont remember any of that lately

Yeah, it's funny Alex, the guys we've brought in the past few years to bring stability and veteran leadership ( Hosmer, Kinsler, Machado), are the ones making the boneheaded plays.
Thankfully our younger players are ignoring them😂

Guessing Hedges will catch about 25% of the games going forward but not necessarily every 4th start but more shaped by the schedule and opposing pitcher ... plus it does hurt to give Mejia (given his size) an occasional two off day spell. Should note that only 6 catchers in MLB have caught more than 75% of their teams games this season ... so the 75/25 split seems the norm.
Wacha was pitching last night ... 90-91 MPH FB and even though a RHP he has more trouble RHH .... that profile may be the best chance for Hedges to hit since he really has trouble with high velocity (but he didn't). Hudson tonight is a higher velocity arm ... not sure about Sunday.
