Quote from Cptjack on July 19, 2018, 3:36 pmYeap, I had the thought the other day that we could probably make a competitive futures team roster on our own. Mejia really seals the deal though.

Quote from hoffy51 on July 19, 2018, 3:49 pmI wonder when the Padres are going to put Ryan Weathers and Xavier Edwards in their listing of top 30 prospects on their website? I wonder where they will go?

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 19, 2018, 7:40 pmSo Tatis was pulled in the 6th inning.
Anyone know why?
Didnt appear to be injured......could he be headed to EP already now that someone will be taking Hand and Cimbers spots in SD?

Quote from Cptjack on July 19, 2018, 7:44 pmJammed his thumb on the SB attempt. Didn't look too serious. Likely a mix of precaution and getting Batten some AB's.

Quote from fenn68 on July 20, 2018, 9:28 amA couple of under reported successes so far this season:
1. Alan Cordoba ... last year's Rule 5 player who suffered major trauma in a winter auto accident that I worried could derail is career. He could not even get on the field in ST and early in the season .... struggled mightily in his June return (.106 BA in 47 AB). However, in July he has a slash line of 286/300/449 (49 AB). This is his first minor league season above short season. From what I saw last year with the limited ML exposure with the Padres .... this kid has real potential both offensively and defensively (if in the OF) ... jury out a bit on him as a SS.
2. Jeisson Rosario ... only 18 years old down in FW but sporting a 279/384/361 slash line with plus CF defense and improving with a July line of 305/369/492 ... this from a highly touted international signing. Only one soft month (June). For an 18 year old ... encouraging.

Additionally, Potts (still just 19) is following his development progress exhibited in FW last year ... slow first half and catches fire late in the season. Last season in FW he was a .250ish hitter thru July then "broke out" with an August line of 346/397/664. He moves up a level to LE and started the season stronger and now in July is producing a line of 354/400/585. 19 in High A and developing .... maybe the Padres were wise to select him in the first round on talent rather than the assumption it was to take an under slot player for signing flexibility. Padres may have their 3B of the future (2021) in-house.

Now sounding like it *could* be serious. They're looking for a fracture or ligament damage.
