Might be smart to sign with a good team in a pitcher’s park.
Got a particular team in mind? 🙂

Quote from hoffy51 on April 23, 2020, 4:51 amCora will sit out the year, all two months of it, then hire him back next season. It is really comical that mlb suspends him for a season when no baseball is being played, or at the very least, a couple of months. Wow. What a punishment!

Yeah, does seem like it should be "a year from the date first game is played"!

Cora was “guilty” for his Houston time ... and basically got the same punishment as Hinch and Luhnow (I think). MLB did not find him guilty of anything in Boston.
(we can debate the reality but they did not have a finding covering Cora in Boston).
(we can also debate the light penalties in BOTH Houston and Boston).
MLB did not find anyone in a cheating conspiracy except that one scout / video replay guy who modified his sign evaluations during games.

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 7, 2020, 6:44 amWatch out for the Reds this year.
Not only did they really improve their offense with the additions of Castellanos and Moustakas but the new schedule gives them the
biggest improvement in strength of schedule.
They actually play a full 33% of their games against the Royals/Tigers/Pirates.
The Giants,D-Backs and Rockies schedule actually got a bit tougher while the Padres and Dodgers got easier.

Quote from fenn68 on July 7, 2020, 8:37 amGiven the oddities of scheduling in a shortened season making handicapping difficult, thinking teams from the NL Central may be the Padres biggest competition for the Wild Card slots (assuming LAD wins the NL West).
NL Central has some good teams beyond CINN ... and they all should rack up wins vs. a very weak AL Central .... wins get the Wild Card.
NL East may be worse off having to play NYY, TB, Boston, may more than offset playing Balt and TOR.
Best strategy is for the Padres to win the NL West,

True....we need the Reds/Brewers/Cards to beat up on each other I guess.
We can't have more than two from that division make the playoffs.
Same with the East really....Can't have more than two of Atl,Phil,Was.
With 7 from each league we need 3 to be from the NL West....but yes, winning the division would be ideal.
We don't want a one and done situation!

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 7, 2020, 11:55 amIt will be tough if 3-4 teams make the playoffs from one Division and we never even got a chance to play them.
