Glancing at the lineups for todays games and I was struck by todays Yankees lineup.

On a team with Judge,Stanton and Sanchez....batting cleanup today for the Bronx Bombers is Didi Gregorious!

Wow!!!

Shows what I know!

Didi goes 4 for 4 with 2 homeruns and “eight” RBI’s!

Stanton 0 for 5 with 5 K’s.

Anyone else sick and tired of baseball's "unwritten" rules? After hearing Twins players whinge and moan about the opposition bunting against them, (whilst they had their shift on!) I'm about to SCREAM!

Man the F**K up Dozier! You don't like your opponent being successful? Stop them! Strike him out, field your(true)position, just be better. Don't cry about a rookie trying to help his team get back into the game!

And cheers to Andrelton Simmons for breaking up a no hitter - in the 5th!- with a bunt! Got your team going and you won the game. Angel fans everywhere love you.

Baseball's unwritten rules my ass.

Yes!......

Ridiculous.......they are in the shift so obviously they are still trying but the offense is supposed to just give up?

If the situation was reversed you can bet the Twins would still be trying to get on base.

While some of baseballs unwritten rules are fine. Such as, pitchers putting batters on the ground or hitting a batter(in the correct spots of the body) that already has 2 HRs in a game. Or bunting in the 8th or 9th inning for the sole purpose of breaking up a no-no, especially if thats your first or only bunt attempt of your professional career. However, the Twins are totally off in this argument. If you are going to put on a shift and the opposite team bunts or slaps it done the open line, then you live with what you get. Especially if it close late.

Windsor, you are right. A speed guy in the 5th, uses a bunt to get on and breaks up the no hitter. Good for him and baseball. In the 5th, a no hitter isnt a story yet.

Anyone watching what Ohtani is doing?

What, 3 HR's and almost a no hitter in the first 2 weeks of the season?

Good time to be an Angels fan.

The way ESPN/MLB.com are pushing updates and generally shoving news in our faces about Ohtani, it's hard to miss what he's doing.

That said, I still cannot for the life of me figure out how the hell he picked Anaheim. Who the **** picks Orange County? Not that he was necessarily gonna be a Padre, but man the Angels just make no sense.

AL so he can DH

West Coast for proximity to Japan

So. Cal for the weather ... easy lifestyle ... Disneyland ...

result: Angels

So is it a coincidence he's so much better now than in ST or do you think they told him to "hold back"?

That was more of a loaded rhetorical "Anaheim sucks, has no identity, has no farm system, has little healthy pitching and an amorphous fan base" sort of question, but alright!
