AAA El Paso Chihuahuas

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

Tonight's Game 2 starter = Aaron Leasher ... who was good in 12 starts at AA San Antonio ... and then struggled in 3 starts at AAA El Paso ... age 25 ...

Another W for the little pups ... with Weathers starting tonight ...

Weathers gets bombed in the 1st ... got only one out via K but gave up 3 hits / 3 walks ... yielded 5 run.

Reiss Knehr tonight for El Paso ...

So the AAA rotation has been: Scholtens, Leasher, Weathers, Ramon Perez (who milb.com lists on San Antonio), Gore (with Avila piggyback), and Knehr ...

Edit: and I see this comment in today's DFR: Transaction: LHP Ramon Perez, who made a spot start Friday to allow the rotation to get lined up, was transferred back to the Double-A Missions roster before the game.

Not a good outing for Knehr (3 ER in 4.1IP ... but only 4 hits + 1 walk with 3 Ks, so not bad) ...

Biggest surprise for me was ... Scholtens threw 2 IP ???

5 more shutout IPs for Jesse Scholtens!!!

No walks in 6 IP for Sholtens tonight ...

Good outing by Clevinger ...

BAD outing by Knehr ...

Why did Trayce Thompson leave early? 🙁

Acer says Trayce is joining the taxi squad. He'll be added to the roster if Wil goes on the IL.

I either forgot or never knew that we signed Shogo ... from today's DFR ...

Another base knock, another RBI, and Shogo Akiyama‘s hot start to his El Paso career continues. Signed by the Padres after being released by the Reds, Akiyama is looking to regain his footing after coming to America just as COVID shut down baseball and started a very strange first two seasons for the Japanese outfielder. Akiyama is slashing .333/.333/.485 in 33 at-bats.

... dude needs to learn to take a walk!
