2022 Season

PreviousPage 31 of 87Next

Hypothetical ?? Do we go after Bryce Harper if Phillies make a big pivot... asking cause AJP was going for both Manny and Bryce... he is already signed ..he is expensive but not too much more per year than Myers + Hosmer (-$7mil per if he keeps 3/39 option) starting in 2023... only 29 like Manny should have a lot of good seasons (MVP type) left... prospect cost might be steep but a lot less than Soto would command.....any thoughts?

OK….so who takes Canos’ roster spot?

On a positive note this is the first time all season we’ve lost 3 games in a row….not many teams can say that.

But,the offense has been bad for a few weeks now, more than just a slump.

The Marlins scored 26 runs yesterday in their double header.

Yes it was in Coors field, but does anyone think we could score 26 runs even in a 3 game series at Coors right now?

I think Cano’s time in SD is over….hopefully adding a bat that can hit sparks a turnaround for this offense.

We can’t expect even more from our starters than they are already giving us.

We have almost as many Quality Starts as we do have victories….this is not sustainable.

I am also pessimistic on Tatis….can’t just wait him out.

Go Padres!

I vote for Mazara (AAA) ot Ruiz (AA) for Cano's spot

I think we should make a trade for Tommy Pham......we all know he can hit.....just ask Joc Pederson 🙂      J/K

I imagine AJ will dip into his Texas bag one more time.....maybe it'll work this time?????

I'm sure we'd all like to see Mazara come up and light the world on fire....at least for a few series.....

FTJ can't come back soon enough.

Dennis Lin and others are reporting that Mazara has been called up.

I'll take Texas Mazara .754OPS right now... BUT if indeed he has tweaked his game and gives us anything close to .800 OPS that would be huge... 1 HR in June Myers aint cutting it for me

Mazara is another guy, like Franchy Cordero in my opinion.

Can tear up AAA  and occasionally hit a 500 ft HR but struggles with plate discipline to hit over .225 or get on base over .300.

By all means he deserves his shot….and maybe something has clicked, but I think I’d rather see new blood, like Ruiz, and think that may be what happens eventually if Mazara is more miss than hit.

Anything has to better than what Cano ended up giving us……

Best thing we will get from this is a baseball card with Cano in a Padre Uni…..and it may end up a trivia question years from now.😉
