2022 Season

M azaras worst 2 seasons > Myers and Grisham current numbers and his career avg of .255/.315....754 OPS is very Renfroish

I think Mazara just takes the early season Beatty role. He can't play CF and he's not supplanting Profar right now. Myers is off to a slow start, but he's picking it up a little bit and June and July are generally his best months. Mazara is probably just a bench bat who gets the occasional spot start. If he does well and others continue to struggle he can earn a bigger role.

Mazara will be better than Cano and really can't say too much more than.  I'm not counting on him to be a savior for the offense, but maybe a little better situational hitting than we've had this year.  Wishing him well.

If he can just run into one every once in a while it will help.

We play such close games that some homeruns would sure help.

Our power has been nearly non existent

Myers is going on the 10 day IL. Rooker is coming up to fill his spot.

Just heard on the MLB network while listing the three upcoming games against the Mets and the Starting Pitching matchups.

“The Mets will miss the padres top two Starters”.
Meaning Musgrove and Gore.

I mean..they aren’t wrong…but we will be trotting out there Blake Snell,Yu Darvish and Sean Manaea.

No way anyone here would have predicted just one year ago that anyone would say MacKenzie Gore would be considered nationally as a better starter than these three guys.

I mean,Snell won a Cy Young…Darvish finished top 3 multiple times and Manaea is considered a top of the rotation starter.

The rise….fall….and rise again of young Mac Gore is nothing short of amazing.

To that end we need to understand he could still run in to some rough patches.

No one, especially a rookie, has it easy for a full season.

But this has been a spectacular start to his career.

I saw a stat that said that he is the 1st pitcher since 1913 (or ever..since 1913 was the 1st yr for ERA stat) to have a 1.50 ERA as a SP through his 1st 9 starts

Think it was a 1.50 era and 55+ K’s in his first i starts.

I know it's a long shot but if Gore keeps this up.....All Star Team maybe ?

I mean Musgrove should be a lead pipe cinch....How cool would that be to have two SP on the NL All Star team playing at Dodger Stadium.....for so many reasons?

Go Pads!!!

Our 6 man rotation should benefit the team in the next grueling stretch of 22 games in 22 days, which includes a doubleheader on Saturday against Colorado.  Hopefully, the build-up to 100 pitches for most starters will carry them through because the bullpen is likely going to be tested.  Might be a time to bring up another long man, such as Morejon or Baez, and send down Wilson.  Tough series coming up against the Mets and really need to put some distance between us and Colorado.  Hope the bats come alive at Wrigley and Coors but our pitchers need to keep the ball in the park.  Hope Myers is ready soon because he is usually good at Wrigley and Coors.
