Not going to list them all hear, but he laid out all of the offers that are supposedly out there. The Dodgers, Giants, Cardinals, Mariners, Rays, Yankees and Mets are all supposedly in the mix.

OK, Jim Bowden just made me vomit in my mouth, when talking about the SD need for OFers, mentions that he has heard about a reunion between SD and Pham.

For the love of Gwynn, please NO!!!

Also heard a second handed comment that sources with the Padres said the offer suggested by Gomez is totally inaccurate.

Now he's saying talks between us and the Nats have intensified. For what it's worth Gore, Abrams, and Hassell were also reported to be a part of the initial offer from someone with The Athletic before the Gomez tweets came out.

I see the Yankees might be going after Castillo.

Interesting to see what the total package would be for the Bombers to get both he and Benintendi.  I can guarantee you it won't be anywhere near what we'll have to give to get Soto.  And that might be the smarter move- a stud SP and On Base machine OF........

If they bring back flim flam Pham I will sell all my tickets and burn my Padres gear and become a Dodgers fan

not only no but HELL NO

Just for reference. SD is only 20 points behind the ML leader in OBP %, LAD. SD is only 27 points behind ML leader in BA, TOR . However, SD is 73 points behind in SLG %, basically the NYY, ATL, TOR, and LAD.

Nobody in SD can seem to drive in the guys that are getting on base.

So yes, go all in for Soto and that with the return of Tatis, should give additional protection to Machado, and watch us MASH!!

I just went back and saw the 5 prospects Manny got traded for to LAD in 2018...2 month rental but still... my used underwear would be a better return for the Orioles

July 18, 2018: Traded by the Baltimore Orioles to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Yusniel Diaz (minors), Rylan Bannon, Dean Kremer, Zach Pop and Breyvic Valera.... ooof

Do find Bowden entertaining on the radio … and as a former GM some interesting views.

One comment … and this may be valid in the Soto case … he would not make a deal until the morning of the trade deadline … stress out the competing bidders and squeeze that one or two extra prospects. Then agree in the AM giving the GMs who did not get the deal to fall back to the other deals they had on the back burner.

He really did not have a favorite in the Soto race … mainly because he did not know what GM are holding out of a trade package and that changes the analysis. However, he did say he would give the farm for Soto … he is that special a talent.

Side: he says last season his info on the Padres getting Scherzer was from a trusted source … that later he found out was using him to get the LAD up their offer.
