Of the active roster Crismatt, Wilson, Morejon, and Hill have options plus Gore … everyone else do not (in the pen Rogers, Garcia, Martinez).
Note that Pomeranz, Johnson, and Suarez also do not have options so if activated must go to the active roster and bump someone (both on the 26 and the 40 since all three are on the 60 day). Add Castillo into the mix and a fourth move off both the 26 and 40 man.
Zero indication that any will be off the IL by the trade deadline … that complicates things a bit. Baring new injuries (Or the IL guys don’t recover) … should expect a waiver move in August to move on from some player …
I can see Wilson (I think he will be a really good arm for a while) going in a trade for a more established high leverage guy like Barlow...who could be our closer in a pinch and be the favorite and cheap $$ option for 2023...
I also see a move for Lamet by someone taking a risk/reward (maybe Reds) gamble on him back as SP to end the season
Besides that from 40 man perspective Stanmen to 60 or if healthy moved ?? But price tag $4mil..($1.6 or so remaining) might scare a contender..
If all Johnson/Pomz and Suarez come back (not to mention Adams) I don't see a path to where Castillo gets on the 40 man til next seasons 40... If someone is back before the deadline ..I can see Hill low $$ and has pitched really well in June 3.00 and July 2.70... being moved as a +1 on a trade or for something not too exciting...
There is also the possibility that Morejon becomes part of a Soto deal ...dont like it ..but ....The injury rehab come off il60 timeline is not ideal for Pads this time around

I saw an interesting trade proposal Hays (Orioles) for Snell....I'd do that in a heartbeat

Also,does AJ have any more sense of urgency to keep Soto from the Dodgers(Division rival) and the Cards(Wildcard rival).

3 1/2 yrs of Hays on the cheap for 1 1/2 years of Snell at a high cost?
I'm thinking we'd have to give up a good prospect as well.
Hays is currently worth 2.8 WAR at $725k half way through the season.
Snell/Rosario?

whoever proposed that must hate the Orioles and don't want to see them even make a run at the playoffs in 2022.

Boston … buyer or seller? Remember this is Boston and a lot of fan media pressure and they are only 2 games out of a Wild Card slot … so buyer seems obvious.
However, in July they are 5 wins / 12 loses … pitching is decimated … the last two games before the brake vs. NYY were losses … ugly losses 14-1 and 13-2. Then today after 4 innings vs their Wild Card rival Toronto … losing 11-0. That argues for seller.
Next week+ may make it clearer but if a buyer probably a desperate buyers … if a seller some interesting pieces that could be on the market. Either way, the Padres may be involved. (Personally want them to be desperate buyers).

Toronto puts up another 11 in the 5th … now leading 25-3 IN BOSTON.
Fans, media, talk shows are going to be out of control tomorrow (if not now). Plus Eovoid I started and got hammered.
