If Bell is not that good at 1B, as per the WAS reporter, could we see upon Tatis return. An INF of Machado, Tatis, Kim, Crone. With Bell becoming the full time DH, and an OF of Profar, Grish, and Soto.

In 2023 Myers is a FA, Bell is a FA seeking a mega contract, Voit better served being non-tendered than paying him $6+MM as a DH ... nothing left in the system to play 1B/DH on a contender ... and "dead money" dedicated to Hosmer.
Is Hosmer at 1B/DH ... given going to pay him anyway ... a better option than trying to sign a new 1B/DH.
Having said that ... I expect him to be move.
The most recent articles are saying that the Padres are still getting Soto but they don't mention Bell. Are the Padres still getting Bell? Hosmer is a member of the Red Sox now anyways. We will have to wait until tonight to tomorrow to get all of these details on these trades worked out and posted.

That might work ... clearly a 2023 option.
I guess that in 2022 would leave Grisham in CF and not opt for Myers at 1B.

With ABSOLUTELY ZERO depth ANYWHERE in our system now, and most likely very little to spend, don't be surprised if Tatis is our starting 1B next year.
Took Myers and Nevin( 2 totally inferior athletes compared to Fernando) one spring training to become first basemen.
An infield of Machado, Kim, Cronenworth, Tatis.....looks alright to me.

Pending any additional moves, Myers could spell Crone at 1B against a tough LHSP, and other spots where he has the best chance for success.
Honestly, how long until Myers is back to the IL with some torn toe nail or something.
