According to Rosenthal back in 2021 tweet, here are the teams that Hosmer can block a deal to, BAL, CLE, DET, MIL, OAK, PIT, SF, SEA, STL, TOR.
Call KC, BOS, or MIA.

11:50am: Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports (on Twitter) that Hosmer is no longer involved in the deal after refusing to waive his no-trade protection. Soto is still being traded to San Diego, but it remains to be seen whether the rest of the package will change.
Also, sounds as Hosmer is open to being moved ... just not to WASH (basically a total rebuild team).
The fit seems to be BOST ... and if a prospect is added ... probably take more of his contract than WASH was. However, Preller is not in a great position given all the reporting on how much the Padres would have eaten in the WASH deal. Will have to add a decent prospect(s) to get the money down ... if Preller cares at this point.
At his point, at with time running out ... maybe moving Myers and Voit will be easier (less prospects attached) and live with Hosmer going forward.

Hosmer just used his contract that both sides signed....just means that AJ will trade him to any of the teams not on his No Trade list....that's how the game is played.
Like I said before....until this deal is DONE and CONFIRMED by both clubs.......

Yeah, no way Eric EVER suits up in bright pink and neon lime green ever again( unless he has fetish we don't know about???)
AJ needs to send him home until he can be moved( the bag of balls idea is a good one)

Preller almost has to "overpay" at this point to move Hosmer to another team ... all the other GM knows the box Hosmer's veto caused.
Can (will) Siedler OK a large over CBT payroll ... and not sure but Soto+Bell would have been larger than Hosmer and they were already over ... so might be over with either scenario.
Can the the team live with Hosmer remaining on the team ... with the deal of maybe Myers / Voit going to create space. Guessing yes given the love for Hosmer in the clubhouse.
A lot of ways this can go. Put the money aside ... the deal still put the Padres in a great 2022 position ... and that transcends all.

Basically, SD will have $46.5M tied up into 3 DH/PHs, between Myers, Hosmer, and Voit.
