4 $100 millionaires plus 6 Minor League FA's???? How often has that happened on a team in the playoffs picture?

I'm assuming Preller doesn't involve himself in the minutae of Minor League FA's, so whose job is that? Are there dozens of scouts across the country watching every game, at every level, scrutinizing every player? Are there league wide data bases that are communaly shared? And how does the team decide which of these guys to sign? They all must have their favourites but obviously only a few can sign.

Whatever that mechanism/process looks like, kudos to the individual/ team of scouts out there looking at these guys. It's keeping us competitive at the moment. That's all you can hope for until the aforementioned millionaires start producing

I wouldn't be so sure AJ isn't a big part of the process. He came up as a scout and has a reputation for being a pretty relentless one. I think he and Chris Kemp have combined to create a scouting department that is much more effective than what we used to have before Preller joined the fold.
