I like the interview at the bottom of this article where he talks about learning from his experience in Little League World Series facing Mo'ne Davis!

And I like this ...
But his defining trait is -- without question -- his bat. Hassell's swing is easy and as smooth as they come. He used it to bat .385/.467/.654 at the MLB Prospect Development Pipeline Showcase last summer. He followed that by hitting .514 at the 18-U World Cup in South Korea, earning International Player of the Year for his performance in the tournament.

He sure seems to be a "natural hitter" from the get go. Tennessee Player of the Year as a Sophomore and as a Junior prior to all last summer successes against better competition.
Hitting is the key skill that should get him to the ML sooner than most HS picks and probably jump some of the existing minor league prospects by (maybe) 2023-24 well past Pham and Myers time with the Padres ... and with three slots he can fill ...pretty open path to the ML.

Pointed it out in a prior post, but in 12 months the Padres have now added these LH OF to their system:
- Trent Grisham
- Taylor Trammell
- Hudson Head
- Ismael Mena
- Robert Hassell III
- Owen Caissie
The first two guys about 3-5 years ahead of the last four given signing bonuses ranging from (Est) 1 - 4+ MM EACH!
And all 6 at least a chance as a CF. Hassell & Caissie both + Arms. Really transformative to the entire organization! Look for shifts or at least significant game play next year in Minors @ 1B for some LH holdovers like Naylor & Ornelas...

Maybe overly optimistic but given the recent rapid ascension of Tatis, Soto, Robles, Acuna, and others to the ML and the potential impact of a 50 player maximum in short season / rookie ball .... could we be seeing Hassell in FW to start (or very early) 2021.
A top four of Abrams, Head, Hassell, Mears could be fun (not so sure about the other four position players).
2021 (FW), 2022 (LE/AMA), 2023 (EP/SD) ... fits well with Myers departure (and Pham will be gone by 2022 potentially making a slot for Trammell). Optimistic yes but the path is clear considering Hassell can handle all three OF slots.

What about Machado and Tatis? I can see 1.Abrams 2.Tatis 3.Hassell 4.Machado. Tatis and Hassell could switch possibly, but I do not see Head having quite the same upside as the rest, especially with the arm-bar in his swing. I see Mears as a 5 or 6 hitter; lots of power but with a lower average and some swing and miss issues.

I was referring to the 2021 Fort Wayne line-up not the future Padre line-upl
