I wish the next two weeks were games against the Giants,D Backs and Rox.

Then we would know.

Even more enlightening would be if they were against the leading contenders for the wild Card .... WASH, PHIL, StL, and MILW.

There is part of me that would like the Padres to win a wild card slot. However, not sure that I would make any moves that hurt the future to achieve a shot at a one game play in. Not sure this team can match up with a good probability to win against the other wild card's #1 SP. Then going against the LAD (likely) in a 5 game set would be lottery odds of winning 3.

The heart wants the Padres to go in and win ... the brain says don't do anything stupid to hurt the future chances just  for that quick high (IF the moves even result in the wild card slot).

Finishing 2nd in the NL West I think is the first step.

At least this game is in your time zone. Normal bed time for MrP tonight!!

Yes that helps.....but it’s the Marlins!

Why is Allen picking at the corners and then grooving others down the middle?

He just has nothing tonight!

And I’m not gonna mention the rookie DH in Right Field.

It’s now 7-3 Marlins in the SECOND INNING!

Only one of these teams looks like a Playoff team lately.

Well two ugly innings in for both teams ...

so, I will highlight a good thing from a Padre I am not high on .... Kinsler. Bases loaded on a 3-2 pitch and he goes with the pitch and sends it to RF scoring 2 runs ... clutch situational hitting unlike most of the league hitters who would have swung for the grand slam and struck out.

Grasping for straws at this point 🙁

I could understand Green doing this if Naylor was knocking the cover off the ball, he is not. Quit experimenting in the ML. Send Naylor back done to work on hitting and fielding.

And with that said, so far I do not like the swing. Looks ugly and inefficient. And he should never see OF grass again!

This game may be in my time zone but I’m having trouble even watching.

Our season could very well hang in the balance over the next few weeks and we are laying an egg.

Maybe it’s us coming back down to earth and it’s a good thing that it’s now.....so we don’t make the wrong moves at the deadline.

Then again....maybe it’s us choking away a great opportunity to stay in the race and preventing us from playing “meaningful games in September”.

Nice play by Kinsler to end the inning. Perhaps he is playing his way right into positive trade status.

It looks like our guys are all in slow motion tonight.

What gives?

Only 4 solo homeruns behind with 4 innings to go.
