Quote from WindsorUK on June 23, 2019, 11:57 amRunner on 1st, Margot at bat, no outs, 3-2 count, down 2-1 in the 4th.
We haven't generated any runs in Pittsburgh- AG needs to send the runner in that situation.
Margot ends up hitting it straight to the 2nd baseman. Thankfully for his speed not a double play.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 23, 2019, 12:42 pmLucchesi really struggling today.
Allowing first batter on most innings, not able to get crucial outs.
Gotta dig deep here.

Quote from fenn68 on June 23, 2019, 12:50 pmFor those who did not see the Padres' first inning .... a mega highlight reel play from Tatis. On 3rd base ... Renfroe pops-up to 2B (right at the cut of the dirt and the OF, so basically INF pop) ... Tatis tags up, lays on a fake stop, then sprints for home ... and SCORES! Incredible!
Also, an outstanding 5 star catch in LF by Renfroe (very long run at top speed) ... Statcast had it at a 15% probability. Somehow Renfroe has really improved defensively.

He needs to be taken out of the 8th inning.
On another note.......the Padres continue to swing for the fences and K at a double digit rate every game......while the Pirates just put the ball in play.
3 K’s for the Pirates.
I’m not sure where our hitting coach is or what Greens’ philosophy is but trying to win games hitting solo homeruns every game isn’t gonna work.
Hats off to Naylor for his plate discipline today.
In part, think they are over using Stammen ... he is 8th among RP in games and 13th in innings. Both paces put him ahead of his pace in both 2017 and 2018 and he is older at 35. In part, after his 2018 (his career best year), we are expecting more than he has. Maybe they need to go a bit more with Wingenter and / or Perdomo (both doing well) in the 8th just to give Stammen time to regroup.
Stammen is a FA after the season but he does go to the post when needed and is liked by the organization (and he likes the organization), so maybe a 50/50 chance of being resigned for pen stability until the Padres can come up with a legit quorum of 8 RP.

Quote from MrPadre19 on June 23, 2019, 3:48 pmPATHETIC!
I can't think of anything else to say.
No way we win anything with Stammen,Wisler,Maton getting any significant innings in relief.
That was F'n embarrassing!
Wisler was flat out released by a team with a worse bullpen than ours.....yet we think he's going to pitch meaningful innings for us?
Maton is a AAAA reliever...period.
We have to find better than this.
If only we had Brad Hand and Adam Cimber.
That is one of the few trades that I wish we had back.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 23, 2019, 4:07 pm3 run lead in the 9th and the 11th......and lose.
Doesn't get lower than that.
Need a MAJOR bullpen shake up- NOW!!!!
Preller needs to cut bait with some, demote others, and bring in fresh arms.

Quote from MrPadre19 on June 24, 2019, 10:53 amWisler and Maton are just not good enough.
May as well start using guys like Diaz,Megill,Munoz,Radke...even Morejon,Cosme, and Evan Miller
Castillo when he's ready.
Steven Wilson?
I'd just as soon give Maton and Wislers 40 man spots to a couple of these guys.
Especially Radke.....the guys 26 and has done nothing but get hitters out the last few seasons.
Whats the hold up giving this guy a shot?
