Quote from 84padres on May 11, 2019, 5:25 amTime to pull the plug on the Lauer experiment. Try him in Erlins spot and bring up Quantrill, he can't do worse. Lauer isn't a long term starter on a good team, there are teams that would take him through. The Tigers have a terrible rotation and he would be an upgrade. I would still try him in relief 1st. Start Quantrill and have Logan Allen take the spot start, let's see what we have in him. And dump Maton ASAP. I would rather see Lauer than Maton.

For the Padres’ eight games played in May, Kinsler has hit leadoff for six of them. He has rewarded Andy Green for the decision by going 9 for 30 with two home runs and two doubles this month. Now Manuel Margot looks like the odd man out of the Padres’ outfield, having started only two of the last six games.

Quote from 84padres on May 12, 2019, 6:42 amLets see, among starters Lauer has most hits most earned runs most HR most BB only neg WAR highest WHIP highest ERA. I don't think 1 start in Coors did all that. He isn't even a # 6 starter on a decent team and I want us to be better than decent . I still think he could be OK in relief for a couple of innings at a time. We have options if we didn't then keep running him out there to throw 3 good starts out of 8 - .375 %

Quote from LynchMob on May 12, 2019, 8:43 amAnyone else notice that Renfroe appeared to change his approach yesterday? What a friend of mine saw was ... choking up and shortening swing ... he's realized he doesn't have to swing out of his shoes to hit it over the fence.
This is a GOOD thing!

I think Longenhagen saw him in extended recently and said the velocity is there but control was rough. Standard for TJ rehab and good news.
