After Gentry the remaining FA CF (if they still can play CF) are Austin Jackson (32), Denard Span (35), and Chris Young (35). Not sure any of them at this point would be better than Myers (considering offense / defense) and in case of Margot and Myers both going down before Jankowski is ready ... guess we would see Pirela (who is doing some CF in AAA). Padres also may not want to take away playing time in CF from Gettys or Pirela on the extreme off chance all the bad outcomes come in.

Doesn't look as though the FA are going anywhere ... so likely will be still around to sign if needed later ... if they are willing to sign for reasonable terms (they are all old enough to weigh retirement vs. spending any significant time in the minors).

That was a surprising coupling of two bad base running efforts ... really bad.

On Kinsler, all I can think is that he did not think Ahmed could get that hard shot and with Kinsler's lack of speed needed to go all in to try to score ...  of course with no outs that does not even make sense.

On Hedges, did not seem to be watching the play in front of him or he would have seen the rundown and curtailed that loopy rounding of 1st base well before the throw that got him. Maybe he though he had a hit and did also did not think Ahmed got it ... of course looking might have tipped him off.
