I think they give Ruiz the chance to see if he can lead off, and go... 1. Ruiz, 2. Crone, 3. Machado, 4. Hosmer, 5. Voit, 6. Mazara, 7. Nola, 8. Grisham, 9. Abrams.

Against tonights starter I would go Nola 5 and Grish 6, making Voit 7 and Mazara 8.

Given the abysmal seasons from,

1. Grisham (who is in his 3rd year and 25) .. has not hit in a year … fielding which should be a constant has cratered … either optioned or DFA?

2. Voit (who is having his worst offensive season … can’t play the field … at 31 … a very good non-tender candidate (at $5.5MM) after the season … clearly dumb baserunning yesterday … bite the bullet on his pay and DFA.

I could see a better (not worse) August with an OF of Profar - Ruiz - Tatis, INF Machado - Kim/Abrams - Cronenworth - Hosmer, Myers DH, Alfaro / Nola C. Almost don’t care who is on the bench. Then layer in a deadline add wherever.
