Padres vs Marlins May 5-8

Generally speaking he's got guys attacking the zone and pitching with confidence. There's not as much nibbling or wasting pitches. He also seems to have Darvish using his fastball more and Musgrove using his changeup more.

Based on some of the comments from our pitchers and past comments about Rothschild I think the biggest thing he has going for him is that he helps guys become the best version of themselves rather than trying to mold them into something they aren't.

I've also seen some comments from guys saying that he's better at communicating what the analytics say and how they can use the information to improve.

Question for you all....What is a change that the new pitching coach has brought with him from Cleveland ?.........if you have been watching you should get this....I've been watching and I am loving it

One thing I've noticed is the pace. These guys get the ball back and throw. No jacking around between pitches.

I agree but nope....I remember teaching this very thing when I was coaching....hell...I taught a lot of pitchers over the years including the 3 fingersplit....:)

Mannys shoes look like a preview of the City Connect Uni’s…….right?

They do matchup with the mockups based on the supposed sock leaks. I'm not a fan.

I love Wilson but could barely watch the 9th inning last night . Too many 3-2 counts. He looked a bit nervous but I was so happy for him to close it out .

3-0 with Lopez on the mound is not good.

We need to get in to their Pen quick or this one is over.

Lamet is clearly looking like a player who is either headed for the IL / minors / DFA … zero command.

Given his performance (past health issues) … coupled with being about 30, only controlled for 2023, and a $4.5MM contact … good chance if they cannot trade him he gets non-tendered next winter.

Given Voit’s issues … and his $5+MM contract … good chance he too gets non-tendered next winter.

Both moves would open some cap space for a more productive add or re-signing one (or more) of the internal FA.

Agree that Lamet is a hot mess right now. No way they can trade him with the way he looks. Send him down to AAA and let him start a few games and get some innings and see what happens . Right now he has no value to the big league roster .

I appreciate Melvin giving Lamet the opportunity but it's definitely time to send him back to Texas to see if he can find his form.

Agreed in that there's no way you trade him right- zero value.

Get him some innings, rekindle his value, then make a decision.

So frustrating!

Just like last night we had a great opportunity to take the early lead and couldn’t.

Kim’s AB was especially frustrating.

3-2 with a Pitcher struggling with his command are you not expecting a fastball right down the middle?

I mean…what else was he looking for?

You have GOT to at least swing at that pitch right?
