Padres vs Marlins May 5-8

PreviousPage 3 of 4Next

Outside of Hos and Manny, we've got 3 guys scuffling around .200, 3 under the Mendoza line, and 1 even under .100!

Almost 30 games in....isn't it about time for a shake up? I don't know how but those numbers are appalling.

Okay, Grisham on 1st, 1 out....time to RUN!

Edit: Nola on 1st, Grisham up. Hit and run time!

This lack of offense is so frustrating….and I don’t just mean the padres.

I love a great pitchers duel but that isn’t what’s happening league wide.

This is creating a very dull product.

Now there are even rumors that MLB is using juiced(or maybe normal) balls for Nationally televised games and not for others.

I have a feeling if this keeps up they will go back to the balls we used the last couple years soon…I don’t think anyone outside of MLB pitchers prefer this game.

Major league professional hitters standing there watching strike 3 right down the middle is driving me crazy.

Are they just hoping for ball 4?

I mean…it’s not like they are questionable pitches right on the corner….they’re right down the middle of the plate.

I was a good pitcher but a poor hitter but even I knew with 2 strikes you had to be aggressive and swing if it’s close…we have guys struggling right now that don’t seem to remember this.

We hadn’t been shut out once all season and we’re working on our 2nd in a row.

This is a bad offense … so far. Just trying to be optimistic and understanding teams / players go hot and cold … so five months to find out the real offense. At least the Padres have not fallen out of contention in month one.

Maybe the return of Myers, Voit, and eventually Tatis will improve the offense …not sure how much but has to be more productive than Beaty, Thompson, Azocar, and Abrams. Not much hope in AAA although Mazara can’t be worse … I think.

Just don’t see anything significant on the trade market right now … still a bit early to have the sellers come out … sellers of someone the Padres would want … and at a “fair price”. They are usually served by waiting closer to the trade deadline to max value and be sure they are out of the playoff race.

Gifted an out and Profar gave it right back.

JORGE!!!!

Wow!

Hell Yes....I'm watching the game with my daughter and she says......Alfaro only needs one swing......pitch...gone. She called it !!!

There are two kinds of people that go to the plate......Batters and Hitters......Batters HOPE they get a hit and the mind set is "Maybe, Maybe, Swing" and then there are Hitters and their mind set is always " YES, YES, Swing".....batters tickle a ball....HITTERS destroy a baseball.....I like HITTERS.....and the saying in the Caribbean has always been " You can't Bat or Walk off the Island....you have to HIT your way off the Island"....even though Alfaro is from Columbia......same mentality.

My guys always knew it was...."1st Strike is yours, 2nd Strike is the teams and the 3rd Strike is mine" and the very best way to hit a curveball was don't MISS the fastball.....Alfaro did that today and he knew it !!!

Go Pads !!!
