PADRES AT COLO

PreviousPage 8 of 14Next

Error was definitely on Tatis.
Not sure what they’re looking at?

What a GREAT at bat by Profar!

Kid works the HELL out of a count.

Grisham is STRONG!

There’s that 8 run lead I wanted.....

Tatis with a double off a ground ball up the middle.

I hope no one says he’s trying too hard with an 8 run lead.

🙄

I think Tatis took his eye off the throw to find the bag.

Not an easy play.

Hosmer should have gone to first IMO.

No issue with him going to 2nd ... momentum going that way and a clear out if Tatis caught the ball. Would have been a much more difficult play to stop - spin - throw to 1B to a moving Paddack. The throw was on line chest high and ahead of the runner ... can't really as more of Hosmer.

Tatis should have been given the error ... they, for now, have given it to Hosmer.

Cost Paddack 2 runs and 12 extra pitches and likely cuts his day shorter than it should be given his real low pitch count to that point. Pen comes in sooner ... takes some away for tomorrow's pen availability.

Side: not only did the official scorer give Hosmer the error on the throw ... he apparently considered the runner having beaten the throw and subsequently called the two runs earned against Paddack. There were two outs and that runner would have been clearly out if the catch was made. He was safe because of the error ... should be unearned.

Box score showing no earned for Paddack.

Arenado would have been out by a good margin had Fernando caught the ball( definitely his error. Hosmer made a good throw)

Isn't it fun to watch runs being scored by the  Padres. It wasn't that long ago when we practically begged for a decent offense, now we just might have one. Minors had almost all pitching and nothing else.  A few astute trades later and we have our CF ,2B , SS and free agents at 3B and 1B. That's pretty impressive for Preller to pull off. Now if our young pitchers develop we can become pretty scary.

Well the Padres really did their job today with Paddack going strong for 6 innings then only using Pagan (for 1) and now Quantrill ... guessing to close it out given his easy 8th.

So the pen is really rested for tomorrow's bullpen day and with Tuesday's day off ... even Pagan and Quantrill could come back tomorrow night.

I expect to see a lot of Padre pitchers tomorrow ... in part to keep them sharp going into the off day and ready for the LAA series starting on Wednesday. Hopefully the offense continues to have fun and gives them a lot of runs to work with.

Naylor just told the Padres ... I have the power and don't forget it.

Who was the other player Tampa threw in when we traded for Cronenworth?

Geeze....... he's good!
