PADRES AT COLO

Important 4 game series with Colorado starting tonight.
SD at .576 (19-14) still is in 2nd place in the NL West (and 4th best record in NL).
COLO at .516 (16-15) and is in 3rd place in the NL West ... 2 games behind SD.
Good (on paper) pitching matchup tonight with Davies scheduled to go for SD.

Yes. We're in the driver's seat, so a split is totally fine. Tough without our #1 (Lamet), but got to somehow find a way to do it.
Might be on the offense. Would expect some classic Colorado 13-11 games here...

Davies keeps the ball down so I'm really hoping he keeps the Rox offense off balance and we win a lower scoring game tonight.
The rest of the series I just don't know....thinking Quantrill gets a Opener spot tomorrow but after that?
If Paddack gets a start it can NOT be another ugly one for his......and our sake.

I like Mateo getting the start in LF vs RHP, but wish they'd put him 9th as a 2nd leadoff hitter. Guess Hedges 9th can bunt him over

Of course, it Hosmer makes the catch, then its a different situation all together.

And........Hedges takes the best pitch he got that whole at bat for a called strike 3!

Every replay of the Hosmer play and it sure looks as though it went right through the webbing ... not Hosmer dropping the ball. Maybe my eyes deceive me.
4 unearned runs tacked on Davies ... deserved better.

Thats what it I thought it looked to me as well; however, I am watching on a laptop so I wasnt sure.
