Somebody talk me down here!

Why is Stammen on this team?

He hasn’t done anything but let inherited runners score and lose games.

He can’t get hitters out!

Bring someone from the Alt site and release this guy .......please!

Or at least realize the obvious and only let him pitch in situations with 3 or more runs ahead or behind!

I know Tingler can only use who’s on his roster...so Stammen is on AJ,however, why didn’t Tingler use Stammen last night with a huge lead instead of Pagan?

Pagan could have been in tonight. We may still have lost but come on.....anyone can see Stammen should not be in in these situations!

Nice game by Craig "Chuck and Duck" Stammen

Knew the game was over when Murphy came to the plate...he's a Pro Hitter

Just Terrible

Lack of timely early hitting and botched base running kept us off the board early, which probably impacted the pitchers sequencing in the game and how long they went.  Good to see the guys claw back and they did hit into some tough luck.  Strahm also didn't have it tonight, but no one has been as bad as Stammen this year in critical situations.  Good to see Pomeranz back and I thought Patino pitched well again.  It's hard to believe that Perdomo has been more reliable than Stammen in his last two outings but it is what it is.  Rosenthal needs to get here very soon!  Is there a way to put Stammen on the IL?

The worse part is that, somehow Stammen got a two year deal 🙁

Has to be smoke and mirrors to cover bullpen days today and Monday ... harder without Morejon even if it is just his 2-3 innings.

Need everyone to put up a decent 2-3 innings ... not going to be easy. A lot of pressure on Paddack tomorrow to go deep and split the pen usage. Tingler did leave some wiggle room for a call-up for Monday .... Lucchesi? Cararena? ... either could start.

Will not be Lynn ...pitching tonight for Texas.

Lynn vs LAD:   Took the loss.   6.0 IP, 110 Pitches (!) - Typical, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K

I'll take it!!  He would SOOO solve the stupid #5 SP 2-3 IP "Bullpen" game approach.  But now he can't go until Th 9/3 on normal rest.  With the way our schedule plays out, he could still make 5 or even 6 starts....

Best value of Lynn may be in the playoffs with the Padres rollin out Lynn - Davies - Lamet in the first three games then figuring out the 4th option between Richards and Paddack ... the other in the pen.

Tingler made a interesting line-up call today vs. a RHP:

France at 3B and Machado to DH ... both RHH. Not Naylor (still there) or Garcia .. both LHH.

A simple reason could just be they want Machado to get a day off his feet in the field on a Sunday afternoon and before Moreland shows up to occupy that DH role.

Might also be a signal to France ... we still have faith in you on this team and you will be used ... stay positive.

Now what that says to Naylor ... not good. Also a slight chance that Naylor is a finalist name in a potential trade and the Padres don't want him to get injured.

Maybe Hosmer has this launch angle thing figured out.
