Just watched the highlights: what did Tingler get booted for?
Also, did Hosmer get the error on Cronenworth's throw? If not, he should have! He always commits to the throw before it leaves the fielders hand, putting himself at awkward angles. While I'm sure it works alot, it still leaves a number of times him being off balanced( ie...unable to make a play)

Could be a tough call on who to add IF they replace Clevinger (they should) knowing they lose the opportunity to use Clevinger in the next round. Of course have to get to the next round so replacing him seems critical given the pure need for arms.
Start with needing to win at least one game of #2 and #3 to get to game #4 ... and the way they needed RP in game #1 and the risk that one (or none) of Davies / Paddack go deep using up more pen ... might opt for the win now view and add a RP and worry about starters for game #4 and #5 if they get there.
Gore is treated as a starter only ... unlikely to start him over Davies or Paddack in the next two games ... so activating him may not help in the next two games.
Of course, IF the Padres think they can get trough tonight (win) and not tax the bullpen ... might defer the call until tomorrow depending on who is / is not used.
Not easy set of options.

Can’t they just DFA Guerra off the IL? The chances of him being claimed is low ... and his chances of making next season’s 13 man staff is very low given his 2020 performance and would then get DFA anyway.
I would also consider DFA of Williams (also out of options) and a long shot for next years pen. Not idea but if they “need” Gore to win it is worth the move.

Tingler was ran for arguing balls and strikes. He didnt even realize that he got run at first. A Base umpire had to come in and tell him, then he turned back towards Home plate ump and got his monies worth. You can see it on CBS Sports.com

JC's throw wasn't great, but that was 100% on Hosmer. Literally hit inside his glove, but his feet were all #$*#@ up. No excuse. He was TERRIBLE at the plate too; swung at multiple pitches way outside zone. Sure wish there was a RH option vs Kershaw.
Tingler wouldn't put Profar @ 1B, Campusano DH... would he?

Davies named Game 2 starter. Whew! NEED "good" Davies tonight!
Per Dennis Lin, Pads are leaning towards someone already on 40-man over Gore (i.e. Baez or Perdomo). Big advantage of that is could simply pull the trigger on Clevinger now, gives the fresh arm for today if neccy, doesn't take anyone off 40-man. I like that they've strictly kept Gore as a SP, but doing so probably hurts his chances in the circumstances Pads are in. Baez (nominally) and Perdomo have both SP/RP MLB experience...
Could always add Gore in the NEXT round if we survive to make a start/s in NLCS with up to 7 games in 7 days after as few as 1 off day.
Guerra was activated off IL when season ended. Just not in playoff pool (like Bednar, Lucchesi). But if you DFA him, at least half the teams in MLB would put a claim in. His upside is vastly higher than Bednar's despite being out of options. Taylor Williams I think they want competing in ST next year; insurance against injuries. But agree could live with that; it would just have been a wasted trade of a prospect for him. Plus I wanted to see him more as a Padre, since he pitched at our High School.

I can’t think of any reason Hosmer is hitting 3rd against Kershaw.
