Throwing 99 mph heat!
Impressed with the 9th and staying in the 10th with the rules placement of a runner at 2nd and still mowing down 3 in a row to finish the game.
Also like the commentary that said the Gore and Patino are good friends and Gore helps Patino with English and Patino helps Gore with Spanish. Might be an factor (since both are very young) waiting to move both up a level at the same time if they benefit from each other.
Could happen, but I think Gore's headed to AA now, Patino maybe another month or even entire season @ Elsinore.

Quote from BoosterSD on July 8, 2019, 11:53 amListening to MLBXM and Jim Bowden was saying how impressed he was with Patino, and thought his stuff would play this year in SD, taking the 8th inning in front of Yates. Stammen, Patino, Yates for 7,8,9!

lol
Some of the only "negative" scouting on Patino puts his small stature & style as more of a RP. Could happen. Has the personality/mentality to close, but don't move him off his success yet.... I don't even like Pads doing that with Baez already in AA

Agree way too early to scrap SP for RP on either Patino or Baez ... let that be a fall back option. Pedro Martinez was though "too small" .. now Hall of Fame ... Sonny Gray was thought too small and now one of the better SP in MLB ... long list of "too small SP" being excellent SP.

Quote from fenn68 on July 9, 2019, 1:30 pm#PadresOnDeck: 2B-SS Xavier Edwards, 19, the Padres' second pick in 2018 draft and No. 8 prospect, is being promoted from Single-A Fort Wayne to Advanced Single-A Lake Elsinore. He led Midwest League in hitting (.338) and hits (103) and was third in on-base percentage (.392).

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 9, 2019, 1:37 pmCJ Abrams extended his hitting streak yesterday....it is for the entire length of his professional career!
Yep......his next hitless game will be his first of his career.
Me thinks that's pretty good for a high school kid.

I hope Patino is not far behind him.
These two really do need to stay together as much as is possible.

Does he play SS or 2B in LE? IF SS does that make Arias a 3B? IF 2B does that make Ruiz a 3B (poor arm and all). Either option suggests that Cordoba is headed to the OF nearly full time (and LE needs some offense in the OF).
Guessing 2B since Arias is a premier defensive SS. E.Ruiz may just become a DH (not a good fielder) or maybe even work in the OF.

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 9, 2019, 3:36 pmI really hope Arias keeps progressing with the bat.
At 19 and in High A he’s improved in almost every area at the plate.
If he can improve his K/BB rate some he could become a solid major league shortstop.
I think of him as a Freddie Galvis type player.
