Anybody knows why L. Allen only pitched one inning with El Paso tonight? Injury? Call UP?

From today's DFR ... seems our next guy up is doing well ...

El Paso won behind an excellent start from Logan Allen, who turned 22 the day before. The lefty pitched a season-high seven innings and allowed just one earned run to a Reno team that is fourth in the league in runs scored. Allen walked just one while striking out a season-high 10 batters. The southpaw has been fantastic in May, pitching to a 1.08 ERA in 25 innings (five starts). More importantly, Allen has walked nine while punching out 30 hitters. Opposing batters are hitting just .198 off of Allen this month.

Xavier Edwards is “amazing”!

How  soon before he’s in L.E. and  in the top 100?

Having a switch hitting CF ( I know he is still an INF, but some have said that the move to CF is looming) would be huge. That allows for the flexibility of an all RH OF or all LH OF based on the SP. And the fact that he is the type of lead off hitter that I like, speed and OBP, could really be a weapon.

Can we call him up now?

😉

Would he hit that much worse than Margot or Myers?

Edwards has 62 hits in 42 games!😳

And sporting a .435 OBP.

Gore HAS to go to AA June 1st+ doesn't he?!!?  What he's doing in Cal League is ridiculous.  Not even remotely challenging him.

Don't we usually see some player movement in June?   We've all gotten spoiled with the combo of rapid ascencsion & aggressive placement of prospects, but it will get increasingly harder to do so with more "blockage" at the highest level/s.

Edwards is the other obvious guy, but think they'll wait on him & Weathers going to Elsinore till after the Minors All Star break.

Shouldn't Osvaldo Hernandez be about ready to get rolling in Elsinore (i.e. fill Gore's spot)?

I'm a little shocked to see Frank Lopez playing in the DSL? He must be just get some reps before he comes to SS Tri Cities right?

Yup.  Actually gives him short season + innings pitched; more time to prep / fewer innings likely for some of last year's P signings

The Tri-Cities season starts in 11 days (Jun 14th) and the Mid-West / Cal Leagues' All-Star games are in 8 days (Jun 18th) combine that with the adds from the draft and that should (could) signal the point were some of the top 1st half performers getting moved up a level. Conversely, we should (could) see some player releases about that time as the short season / rookie leagues' rosters get set with the adds from the draft .... still a lot of prospects in extended ST that have to get sorted.
