Yeah, not surprised Pads couldn't get him outrighted.  Brito (Cordero's cousin!?) is something like a poor man's Cordero.

On the plus side, it's "something for nothing".  On the down side, I'm sure they would have rather had Brito than Orozco

"a few weeks" may be a bit aggressive even if he is hitting but if he IS hitting could see Jun. Normally want to see 150 ABs before making a judgement (maybe 200).

It will be interesting to see how the Padres use him ... apparently he is decent defensively EXCEPT does not have a strong arm ... not a good sign for a SS and more a 2B profile. IF they project him as a back-up in the ML probably use him at both 2B and SS. If he hits well enough for a starting role ... likely at 2B ... does that make Urias the back-up since he is more comfortable at SS (or at least the swing man when Miller plays).

Not just Miller but "especially" Xavier Edwards.I think this kid is the real deal and hope we don't end up trading him away because he's blocked.Miller may end up an ideal super utility/PH type....but Edwards I believe will need to play everyday.

Maybe he could move to CF?

I realize alot can happen in the time between now and when Edwards is ML ready....I'm just thinking ahead.

Myers and Jankowski will be gone, Hosmer could have opted out, Machado has one more year before his opt out chance ... plus not yet locked in on Urias, Margot, Cordero, Renfroe, or Reyes .... guessing there will be some place for him to play if he is that good and the shuffle others around.
