Surprised by the Weathers promotion. Must have shown really well in sideline work in AZ since he pitched very little in games. There are a couple of other pitchers in TC/AZ have pitched more ... and effectively that were bypassed.

Only 12 games left for FW ... and (at least for now) still in the playoff hunt. I guess good exposure for Weathers just being there ... not sure the value of one (maybe two) appearances at the end of the season.

No matter the logic ... seems like a positive on Weathers.

Between the players, from what I understand FW has been gushing over the Padres, particularly during this rebuild. (They extended their PDC until 2020)

This kid reminds me of Donavan Tate as far as his athleticism and potential(albeit not a high pick) so it's just real disappointing

that he is still struggling so badly at the plate.

the epitome of a "Mr.P" kind of baseball player.

I guess I'll have to settle for seeing Robbie Podorsky return next season and continue to rake!

Mr. P is David Nevin, his old screen name from the old site was Mr. Padre 19 and many of us shortened it to Mr. P. And the kind of player he likes is speedy, gap power guys who play great defense that can get on base via a walk or single and steal 2nd if they dont hit a double.
