I watched the TinCaps game last night.  Holy hell, is Patino impressive.  Throwing 94-96 at 18.  He was dominant.

I turned it on just at the beginning of the 9 run inning and of course they pulled Patino out.

I missed seeing him.

It was great seeing Melean get his first two HR's of his pro career though.

Naylor injured or on the trade block? Out 2 games in a row.

Reggie Lawson 30 ER in 30 Days.

Good chance he as "peaked out" on innings this season .... tired arm? Only 73 last year and already at 93 ... still 20 so body may not be ready to handle that load. Maybe they should give him a strategic DL for a couple of weeks and bring him back later in August.

Good start by Quantrill today against a quality opponent.

I'm like the stats for Omar Cruz!  Who is this guy? 🙂

http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2018_08_01_skvasx_triasx_1&t=g_box&sid=milb

Now at 33 IP (between AZL and TriCities) ... with 49 Ks!  (and only 8 BBs)

How about Jefferson Garcia?

http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=677652#/career/R/pitching/2018/ALL

In his last 5 appearances he has 22 K’s and 3 BB’s.

Yesterday he had “10” K’s in 4 innings!

And Tucupita Marcano just keeps on hitting.

In 31 games he has a .500 OBP with “46” hits!

All But 4 are singles and he’s yet to hit a HR in 80 minor league games.....but 46 hits in 31 games?

To go along with 21 BB’s and only 10 K’s!

A commentor at minorleagueball.com found this ...

Eric Longenhagen from June

"Cruz is a 6-foot lefty with a lower arm slot and advanced control of a 90-92 mph fastball. He also has an average curveball, which he can throw for strikes. That has largely been enough to carve up opposing hitters throughout his first two AZL starts. He works down with the fastball and the arm action is changeup friendly. He could have a mix of 50s and 55s at peak."

His BABIP is .438, which needless to say is absurd. Fun to watch him pile up the hits, but that average is gonna tumble at some point.
