Quote from MrPadre19 on July 23, 2018, 7:59 amCould the fact that Mejia has yet to see the field for EP simply be due to Nicholas being "in the zone" at the moment?
If they only want Mejia to Catch....I could see them not wanting to sit Nicholas right now.
Kids on fire!
EDIT:I just saw where according to David Jay, Mejia is scheduled to start tomorrow.

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 23, 2018, 10:17 amI think the point was that he "did" hit.....in the Minors.
To this point that is all that Naylor has done as well.

I know we've been over this before, but if he dropped some weight, he probably could be a pretty good OF
Or......maybe the DH will come to the NL about the same time as Naylor?

It's backed up by the .900 OF fielding % that the official scorer has given him. You're prefacing everything with his size meaning you're clearly enamored with it and grading on a scale and you're obviously too close to the situation if you're bringing up intelligence. When we had Kyle Blanks roll through the system he looked like a below average defender a few years ago at 250lbs. Naylor is not Kyle Blanks. I actually really like Naylor as a prospect and he makes the Hosmer signing one of the dumbest contracts in Padres history, but he's no OFer.

Quote from John Conniff on July 24, 2018, 8:29 amJust to be clear, I think Naylor has a ways to go to become a viable option in left field for the Padres. However, he was a lot better than I thought he would be and we have had three sets of eyes on him this season in SA (Marcus, David and myself). He still needs to drop some more weight, but he takes good routes, is really working at becoming better out there and he has a good arm.
The bat, and more importantly the approach, is real. We will have an interview with him coming up and I like the direction he is going in.

Quote from Cptjack on July 24, 2018, 6:42 pmMejia makes his debut. Was actually wondering if Urias would see an uptick over the next month or so with someone like that hitting behind him. After Franmil's start and callup it's been musical chairs.
Broadcaster curse: 0-4 3k

Quote from Cptjack on July 25, 2018, 4:15 pmFirst time seeing Patino. That's a weird mix of a delivery. High come to bringing the glove across his face and deep into his body into a high leg kick. I can see how it'd be easy to pull it across body. Sat 96 in the first. 94 after the 2nd.

Quote from Ryan Payne on July 25, 2018, 5:56 pmIs it fair to say that Gore and Patino will headline a Lake Elsinore rotation next season? That team has a chance to be ridiculously young for the Cal League, but supremely talented with top prospects.

Quote from dvmin98 on July 26, 2018, 9:00 amI watched the TinCaps game last night. Holy hell, is Patino impressive. Throwing 94-96 at 18. He was dominant.
