Any word on Anderson Espinoza?

Should be throwing his first bullpen this week.

So, Travis Radke has been toiling in low A.  He's 25 and has 64 k's with 8 BB in 43 innings.  At his age, shouldn't he be moving up?

Robbie Podorsky needs to be in L.E.

Buddy Reed needs to be in S.A.

How is this not happening?

Are we really holding these guys back so Nick Shulz, who is 27 in AA and hitting .218,has roster spot?

Reed heads out for the Futures Game Thursday or Friday... moving him before then would just be silly.

OK.

Wouldn't  have been silly to move him weeks ago.

Or after the futures game.

Never really know what the development folks are looking at to generate the move ... stat-wise a good case to move after the A ball All-Star games could have been made. Still, Reed (if he is moved after the futures game) should still get about 200 AA AB ... a couple of weeks one way or the other not a big concern.

What are we guessing? Reed to AA (with one of Schulz, Kohlway, or Boykin to the DL / released) ... Podorsky to A+ .... Little to A(?).

Any chance this chain is lead by Naylor to AAA ... he has hit over .300 most (if not all) of the season?

I agree its not a big deal....as long as it actually happens.

Reed and Podorsky are not 19 year old teenagers.

I guess I'm just wondering at their age and the way they are playing what their thinking is to not have already moved them.

Is it something about their game or is it about the guys ahead of them?

Or just not high on their priority list......

That's a good list ... probably a combo of all 3!  Does anyone have a link to a study which looks into pro's & con's of "rush" vs "patience"?

MLB Pipeline noticed Jordy Barley this week ...

https://www.mlb.com/padres/news/bobby-dalbec-leads-pipeline-team-of-the-week/c-284971828

SS: Jordy Barley, Arizona League Padres 2 (Rookie)
(Padres' No. 30 prospect)
.421/.478/.947, 5 G, 19 AB, 8 R, 8 H, 4 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1 BB, 4 K, 3 SB

Known more for his glove than his bat, Barley went just 6-for-45 (.133) in his first 11 games as he repeated the Arizona League this summer. He matched that hit total in his first two games last week, recorded a four-hit contest (three for extra bases) on Wednesday and boosted his season line to .219/.329/.500 with three homers, five steals and an AZL-best 19 runs in 16 games.

Jeff Sanders on Twitter reports Buddy Reed up to AA.

My first clue that an OF had been moved off LE was that Rod Boykin is in the LE lineup tonight.  Downward pressure from Szcur AAA assignment?  May have hurt Podorsky's immediate prospects for promotion by Boykin taking the spot in LE.

Anyone checked out Buddy Reed's Twitter feed?  That dude is cut per the photos. https://twitter.com/buddyloco23?lang=en
