I don't think there are any actual age based restrictions. I saw people making that claim on social media, but I'm not sure where it's coming from. Julio Urias played A ball at 16 too.

Morejon looked very good tonight after a couple of poor appearances earlier with the Storm. Consistently pounded the strike zone with 95 MPH FB and good knuckle change; when he missed it wasn't by much. He does look a little heavy around the waste but the arm was golden tonight. Storm win as Salas goes 2-3 with a BB and a K. Can't wait to see him behind the plate tomorrow, hopefully. By the way Krob pitched an awesome game; I'm beginning to take a liking to him as his control has gotten much better.

Could be something could be nothing. This is why I try not to pay too much attention to any of these guys until they're actually signed. It's such a corrupt system that you never know what might happen with these early handshake deals.

Yep.
Just passing along what I saw somewhere.
But these guys are given "sponsorship" by major league teams and basically belong to that Org...right or wrong.
Their handlers are probably paid accordingly....to keep them with the team sponsoring.
Would suck to do this for 2-3 years and then have the kid just change his mind.

Yeah but teams do it too. I've read about a lot of guys that have had big deals in place at 13 or 14 only to have the team back out or drastically reduce the offer when they don't look as good at 16. Just a crappy system all around.

.800 BA /1.875 OPS... I think is safe to say NO 16yr old will ever break Salas A Ball stats for a 16 yr old....
BTW He is 17 today.. Happy Birthday Ethan!

What a joke the AAA Pacific league is . Last night José Iglesias 5-for-7, 2 2B, 3 HR (4), 5 R, 8 RBIs . It's impossible to judge any player from that league .

Yeah I hate it as much for hitters as MrP does for pitchers. The league average batting line is .274/.374/.457 it makes scrubs look like stars.

Another excellent outing for Mazur in FW … six shutout innings with only 4 hits and 0 BB … ERA now 1.45.
Getting some very strong SP in both FW and LE … maybe in about a month we see some moved up a level for a greater challenge.
