That is a pretty young top 5. Actually the whole list is pretty young … good for the long range future.

A couple of new names not really familiar with #23 Marsee (college OF) and #26 Lowe (RHP, HS) … both drafted in 2022.

I got to see Marsee in a couple of games at Lake Elsinore.  Even though he didn't hit for a high average, has some speed, good bat to ball skills and apparently good pitch recognition; also liked his play in the OF.   Could be a sleeper as a #6 draft pick last year.  Don't think Lowe pitched at all after being drafted but have read some good things about his potential.

Considering the AAA season starts in just over 3 weeks (Mar 31) and AA on April 6 … and still a massive number to pitchers still on the rosters not even considering any pitchers trying to move up from FW and maybe 8-9 being optioned down from from the ML 40 man … we should be seeing a ton of releases coming soon so the culling process can start to happen giving the survivors the ST innings to be ready for the season.

LHH in HS as far as I know …

Always a chance that the card accidentally flipped the image.

The maximum number of active players on the El Paso roster is 28.  I can see them keeping from 13 to 15 active pitchers.  Currently, there are 24 pitchers listed on the El Paso roster and you can probably expect the Padres to send down 10-11 pitchers on their 40 man with options remaining.  Got a couple more weeks left before the rosters pare down but it will be interesting to guess which pitchers make the Chihuahua staff.  I'll give it a shot before the end of next week but whoever is on that staff, it is going to be a very good one!

Since all the affiliate rosters are “overstocked” with pitchers and some of those arms are vying to move up a level with ST performances going to be a challenge not only determine who the Padres retain but where they get placed. Could see some of the EP arms in SA (maybe even an optioned 40 man roster guy).
