This Matthew Batten guy looks like he knows how to handle a bat. Seems to have come out of nowhere. Drafted in 2017. Do we have any information about him defensively or other newsworthy notes? Im intrigued.

My guess is 2 innings was plenty ... I'm psyched to see him back on the mound and putting up zeros!

Good defensively, doesn't have this type of bat.

Nah, he is recovering from the blister on his middle finger. He hasn't played in a month. More just like a pitch/inning limit. Pretty solid stat line for the day.

The mid-season All-Star games for LE and FW are next Tuesday and for SA in two weeks .... a logical time the make some prospect promotions if warranted.
Any sense of the Padres preparing to make some moves at that time? Would think Reed and Paddack would be considered for a promotion to SA. Outside chance Austin Allen could get a bump to EP ... he has hit all year and is already 24 plus giving him the AAA time might make him a legit candidate for the Padres in 2019 (not necessarily to begin the season) considering Ellis is a FA, Lopez is hitting below .200, and Hedges ???????????????

You should definitely expect a fleet of moves in the coming two weeks as the draft picks hit the system, a few guys who've been on the shelf are ready to go, and players who've performed get promotions.
