Has anyone noticed the remarkable rebound of Josh Mears since his return to FW?

He had a very poor April-Jun … got demoted to ACL … not great there … returns to FW mid-July … since then

.318 BA … 6 HR / 63 AB … still very high K%

In August … .351 BA … 4 HR / 37 AB … still very high K%

Hight K% will be his Achilles heal … but I guess I am surprised by his dramatic turnaround mid-season. Still a legit prospect.

Yes he has been on fire... if he can just get below 40% K he could be a solid Player ..to ++ if he can stay in CF..even if he can be versatile enough to be Wil Myers with the Glove CF/RF/LF type.. with that power could be a nice piece in our 26 down the line.. if Soto/Tatis/Manny are kept together for the foreseeable future.. guys like Mears, Merrill and Doersching (others)..can be plugged in as they become "mlb ready" without the pressure of immediate results.. sort of what LAD does..

We signed a prospect out of China for the first time.

Must have some potential:

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball platform and scouting service, today announced the rosters for its upcoming 2022 All-American Classic amateur baseball game, scheduled to be played at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday, August 28.

California leads the field of this year’s competition featuring the best-of-the-best high school aged baseball players, with 15 players. Florida was close behind with 12 selections, while baseball hotbeds, Georgia and Texas, will be represented by six and five players, respectively. In all, 21 states will be represented at this year’s All-American Classic, as will China. Zack Qin, a 6-2 pitcher out of the MLB China Academy, has been named to the West Team.

I am so happy that the MLB prospects list has been redone to include the newly drafted players. Our list was looking like it did in the bad old days.

Not too bad after all the trading..tbh... look at them Boyz moving up..love it.. what a draft class.. Back to Back outstanding classes

Doersching with his 1st LE HR last night ..OPS at a cool 1.378

I think Adam Mazur is going to move quickly through our system. We don't have any starting pitchers anywhere close to MLB at this time outside of Knehr, Groome and Weathers and they are stinking it up. Mazur seems to already be more advanced than everyone else.

Hopefully. A college arm could (should) be started in FW in 2023 then evaluated pace of advancement. If lucky, maybe a 2025 ML debut. Might be too optimistic (without actually seeing him pitch) to think he could be up in 2024 (even late in the season).
