Where did Duncan Snider come from?

6’7” 235 lb RH pitcher in LE.

24 years old but doesn’t seem to have a history?

Yeah there was more to the story ..I think James posted it on SDUT Forum but went back 2 months of his posts and couldn't find it.. just a long shot...but we seem to find BP arms all over the place so worth a shot

3 2-0 0.00 10.2 11 0.56

In 3 Games Snider has looked great..

Our Catching Depth in the low minors (post Draft) and including Intl signing to be E Salas... is a thing of beauty... we have 2 or 3 very nice teen C already..and adding another 3+ (Draft + Intl signings) is going to be fun to watch these kids develop.. many of whom come with + bats projections and cannons for arms

P Noel Vela with an absolutely gem today at FtWayne (A+) 7 IP 3H 0R 1BB 10SO....

With the lack of SP behind the MLB club.. Vela could be one in the mix for some innings as soon as late 2023...

MLBPipeline now has him on the Top 30 list at #30 ... but that is based on the pre-season rankings and he moved on as others graduated.

It will be interesting to see how far he jumps when post-2022 rankings are developed. Needs to be protected from Rule 5 as I recall.

Have to root for him succeeding given the SP in the system ... especially ready for 2024 ... he and Gasser are on the rise ... and hopefully the Lawson rebound continues.

Some notes James posted in SDUT Forum

Guys who don't show up on prospect lists, but keep an eye on ...

El Paso: Tom Cosgrove (LHP) 26-year-old has been outstanding between SA and EP. Outside of one stumble in his first appearance at EP he has been terrific. Not overpowering, but spots the 92 mph FB and slider very well. Nobody hits him well. On the season: 7-1 3.12ERA 34.2IP 20H 13R 12ER 14BB 55Ks. BA against .165. 0.97WHIP. Taylor Kohlwey just hits and hits. An outfielder who can even play CF if needed. Slashing .338/.434/.512. Leads all of Triple-A in average (.338) and OBP (.434). Occasional power. Walks more than he Ks. Just turned 28. Will need to be put on 40-man roster in off-season to keep him.

San Antonio: RHP Moises Lugo has an electric upper-90s four-seam fastball. Multi-inning reliever who has had only a few bad outings out of 21 appearances. When his command is right, he's impossible to hit. For the season: 5-0 3.40 45.0IP 30H 19R 17ER 28BB 65Ks. .188 BA against. Only 23.

Ft. Wayne: OF Corey Rosier, obtained from Seattle in the Adam Frazier trade. Can play CF, but that's currently occupied by Hassell. Only a second-year pro out of UNC Greensboro. Started the season slowly, but has come on in July (.310). Overall slashing .242/.377/.382. Occasional pop. Can really run: 29 SB in 33 attempts. 53BB vs. 61Ks. He'll be with Hassell at Double-A next year, and probably slip into the Top 30.

Lake Elsinore: I've written about a few others, but LHP Bodi Rascon has come on strong in his last four starts. Since June 29: 1-0 0.43ERA 21.0IP 12H 2R 1ER 4BB 21Ks. Stands 6-6 205, but still growing. Only 21 years old. Look for him to add velocity as he grows into his tall frame.

Good stuff!

Was just looking at Rascon and Lugo's profiles.

We "really" need a few arms to separate themselves......looking at you Reggie Lawson!
