Team?I'm pretty sure his best value to the Padres is at 1B and doing whatever you have to in order to dump the albatrosses they've signed to first.

Quote from Ryan Payne on May 23, 2018, 9:40 pmHosmer is going nowhere. Naylor's best value is as a trade chip to an AL team as stated. He's so young though that I would just want him to continue to develop.

Quote from Ryan Payne on May 23, 2018, 9:42 pmMichel Baez with a good start tonight, but he's still not nearly the K rate I would hope for given all his successes last year. It's a bizarre world when he hasn't given up a home run yet and the strikeouts are down. Solid outing tonight though to get the Storm a win. Dauris Valdez seems to have stabilized a little bit as well on paper. Now, about that Morejon guy.....Ugh.

I’m afraid to ask because I’m sure it is just about money but why don’t you like Hosmer or Myers?
I understand Myers is always hurt but Hos has a .364 OBP and a OPS over .830 with 23 XBH.
We can’t “only” have minimum salary players unfortunately.

Has anyone heard an update on Morejon yet?

Quote from Friartuck on May 24, 2018, 10:51 amPadres prospect Adrian Morejon, who was scratched from his last start, has a stiff neck. It's considered a mild case. He's not expected to miss much time.

Quote from David Jay on May 24, 2018, 5:31 pmAs of yet, it's not clear when he'll get back in the rotation. He should be in uniform tonight.
Speaking of injury updates, a few:
Brett Kennedy's ankle seems to be calming down.
No mound work yet for Munoz or Hansel Rodriguez, but it sounds like Munoz could be throwing BPs pretty soon. Obviously, when and if he's ready, he'd only need a handful of games in the AZL since he doesn't have to build up pitch count.
Also, Wen-Hua Sung, who didn't throw an inning last year while dealing with various arm issues, is working in XST games now.

Quote from Commie on May 24, 2018, 6:05 pmNot sure if anyone else is watching, but Margevicious (sp?) is dealing tonight. Just completed 7 shutout less than 100 pitches. Good stuff.

Quote from Ryan Payne on May 24, 2018, 7:28 pmHe was my pitching prospect to champion this year....Not mad about it. Should get promoted to the Cal League at some point relatively soon I would think.
