Most important question of the year..........

So are they still the Missions, that occasionally play as the Flying Chanclas, or are they permanently the Flying Chanclas?

They will play their remaining Thursday home games with the badass Flying Chanclas gear. It's part of MiLB's Copa de la Diversión and they are doing a very nice job with it.

Officially a little worried about Michel Baez. Now that he isn't facing younger and outmatched competition, the walk rate is up, the K rate is way down and he's not getting deep into games. Hope it's a matter of just adjusting for him, but....

I was watching the game and he was cruising right along until he gave up a ground ball single that scored a run.

They got the batter in a rundown between 1st and 2nd and misplayed it allowing another run to score.

It’s not like he was hit hard.

Is Robbie Podorsky healthy?

Is he really still going to be in Low A ball?

He is still healthy and, as of today, he's headed to Elsinore.

Like we said in the mailbag a few weeks back, it's just a tough situation for him. But he'll go as a fourth OF for the Storm right now. Figure he'll probably stick there for the year... and I would bet on him maximizing whatever opportunities he gets.

No, he was not hit hard. But as highly touted as he has been, at the High A level, he should be a little more dominant. Now that he isn't getting nearly as many swings and misses out of the zone, the strikeouts are way down and the control/command has faltered a bit. The K/9 ratio is a metric I look at as a future indicator for success; if you miss bats, that translates. It's not a universal attribute obviously, but I was just expecting a bit more from Baez. It's still early, of course. Chris Paddack on the other hand is looking sharp.

Thanks for the info.

And the mailbag mention....I missed it before.

I would chalk it up to “it’s early”.

He’s only thrown 16 innings after all.
