In 2018 only Joey was + in WAR all others were in - negative WAR territory.. Pretty nice turn around .. We add a 3-4 WAR type TOR in the off-season to the mix and Gore comes up at some point and we can take our SP to a whole new level in 2020. I have been on Metsmerized since before the trade deadline and you would not believe what they expected to get back in a trade for Syndergaard! Even when he was still bad! I think we are better off keeping what we have. We have a ton of pitching, let's keep it and make sure we have enough for when injuries happen. A TOR is far too expensive. In a trade, any team will go straight to Gore, Patino and even Paddack and Quantrill! Believe it, people are crazy. Even a free agent will be far more expensive than the actual value he provides. Even overage TOR starters want to be paid $30million a year until they are 45. We have an awesome minor league system, let's not waste it in trades!

Quote from JasonE135 on September 3, 2019, 10:36 pmLooks like we have a bunch of hard throwing unknown pitchers in our minor league system. There is almost no video that I can ever find of any of them. All I ever see written is that they throw hard. Bednar, Fox, Guerra; no info on their control, breaking pitches, plusses and minuses. Guess you will never know anything about late round relievers until they show up in the big leagues.

Quote from MrPadre19 on September 7, 2019, 9:38 pmDominating performances by three lesser know Padre pitching prospects tonight.
Martinez/Feliz/Scholtens
As far as Adrian Martinez.....he has amazing stuff but did not pitch well in 2018.
Has he made a change this year or has he just “learned how to pitch”?
Has he been helped by improved coaching as he’s moved up a level?
Could he be pitching his way into the top 30?

Quote from LynchMob on September 10, 2019, 8:25 amWhy not have G Richards pitching in the AA playoffs (ie. for Amarillo) rather than A playoffs (ie. for Lake Elsinore)?

Quote from JasonE135 on September 10, 2019, 3:00 pmHe is only in the minors to get work on his arm, it doesn't matter who he faces. We already know he can get major league hitters out. I am sure there are more pitchers they want to see compete in AA than A ball. Minors is for kids to build experience and prove themselves. Richards is only there for rehab.
