LAD @ Padres

Must admit that I was more than surprised when Tingler didn't hit for Ona when Baez was brought in.  I heard Tingler explain why in the post-game, but that's easy to say when it works out.  I thought surely he would strike out - a lot of second guessing if he did or ground into a double play (I believe there was just 1 out when Ona got that hit).  I was looking for Moreland or Garcia and Garcia did come in and bat for Mateo.  In these last 8 games, Tingler has had the magic.  Go Padres!  Beat LA!

Are you kidding me?  Roberts complaining that Grisham disrespected Kershaw by looking into our dugout and trying to fire up our guys?  He didn't make any kind of gesture toward Kershaw or the Dodgers that showed disrespect, no audacious bat flip or pointing to the mound - they chirped at him when he rounded the bases which then caused him to jump on home plate with both feet.  So arrogant are the Dodgers that they can't believe they were on the brink of being beat by a team that is having fun playing the game the way it should be played.  I'm with Fernando, let's go and eat cake!  Beat LA!

Gonsolin very tough on us over a month ago and looks especially tough at home.  Fortunately this game is at PETCO and we are a better team than we were in mid-August.  Hoping for a typical Davies' game.  Go Padres!  Let's give Davies some support!

We really need Tatis to find his groove again soon.

Its weird seeing him struggle as he has never done so before.

We’ve been able to win without his contribution...but that won’t continue I’m afraid against good teams like the Dodgers.

Grisham and Cronenworth have been SO good this year.

Just think how badly we needed upgrades at both CF and 2B after last season.

AJ could not have done any better even if he had spent 10’s of millions in free agency...and we have these guys for years at minimum!

It was set up for the big finish but we just didn't come through this time.  Let's get them tomorrow and win the series!

Baseball players are turning into snowflakes! Such fragile egos!

Games changing, hell, world's changing! Get on the bus and enjoy the ride, or step off and be relegated into antiquity.

Go Pads.......and CRUSH the Duds!

Looks like a bullpen day for both teams, making sure injuries heal and setting up the post-season rotation.  Also, no activation of either Pham or Hosmer - looks like that will happen after today's game which means we will probably see Lucchesi before he is sent down.  Makes sense for the teams although us fans want our team to go for the win without reservations!  Beat LA!

Yeah, they're playing it safe with Dustin May same way we are with Paddack.

Long view it's "better" for us, with no May, now Graterol being used "long" (like Morejon), and made Jansen work last night: 28 P.

We get tomorrow off.  LAD get on a plane.... for 4 in Colorado after a bullpen game.  Hopefully we can set the stage for a nice hangover for them today!

BEAT L.A.!!!

No, makes more sense long run here for Pham & Hosmer (he's not eligible until 9/18 anyway) to get 2 more days rest/heal than to come up for one game before an off day.

Agree we'll likely see Joey today, then down.  Since only a 3 game set then another off day, could "just" add an extra position player i.e. Pham for Joey.   But I suspect we might see the 2020 debut of either Austin Adams (more likely) or Jose Castillo for the Mariners series.  If so, than 1 OF + 1 P down.

Would love to see Hos back obviously if he's really ready, but I'm OK if they go the M's series without him & target the 2 games @ home vs. Angels for his return = another 4-5 days to heal up, but still 6 games regular season for AB's before playoffs.  No more bunting!
