Does anybody have Isaiah Lowe yet?  If not, I'll take him 🙂

From today's DFR ... currently at Lake Elsinore ...

After looking dominant in his pro debut last week, right-hander Isaiah Lowe impressed even more in his second start, allowing just one hit over four innings adding six strikeouts. The 19-year-old has allowed one earned run over his first two starts, showing an effective three-pitch mix that he's keeping in the strike zone effectively. 11th-round pick out of North Carolina last summer has struck out 10 and held opponents to a .185 average in his first two outings.

... and/or ... also from today's DFR ... and also at Lake Elsinore ...

The Storm's lone run came courtesy of an RBI single from 18-year-old Rosman Verdugo, who has hit in two straight. The infielder is off to a moderate start as the second-youngest position player in full-season ball, hitting .250/.302/.400 through the early going.

Lowe I’m not sure was taken so you’d best be served selecting him. I selected Verdugo as my prospect so very pleased with my champion prospect 😎

So Korry Howell is kind of proving who he is. A dismal batting line .182 BA and .200 OBP with 18 Ks to 0 BBs. Now if he makes contact he seems great. 3 SBs with no caught stealing. Of his 8 hits in 44 ABs, three are doubles and one triple.

The speed kills if he could figure out how to hit or take a walk.

What I like about Verdugo is that he always seems so calm, both at the plate and in the field at only 18 years old.  So far he has been a clutch hitter with 10 RBI in only 47 AB's but his K rate still is at 30% while his BB rate is under 5%.  He's going to have to improve those latter stats as he moves up but if he starts flashing the power he displayed in the ACL last year, this could be acceptable. His play in the field is okay with adequate range and good hands, kind of like Bogaerts;  he might, however, make an excellent 2b man.  A good choice to champion at such a young age.

Didn't know Salas hitting was so advanced..Always thought his C skills were way ahead of his hitting..But based on this article seems like Salas hitting is pretty elite already

My championed prospect, Albert Fabian, just hit a walk-off 3 run HR for Lake Elsinore for a dramatic come from behind win.  He earlier hit a solo HR.  Great day for Padres farm teams - clean sweep!  Now to complete the night against LA!
