Champion your prospect.

My guy, Albert Fabian, did well at Lake Elsinore but didn't make the adjustment to High A until the last few games of the season.  Although will only be 22 at the start of next season, eligible for Rule 5.  Because still has a long way to go before becoming a "top" prospect, unlikely to be taken in Rule 5 and will start 2024 back in Ft. Wayne, where I expect him to have a good season after this end of season exposure to tougher pitching and different environment/culture.  In fact, a lot of the current Ft. Wayne team will be back so look forward to them challenging for another shot of the playoffs next year.

Randy - is it likely that Fabian will play fall and/or winter ball?  Where?

I decided to take a look at how our guys did now that the minor league seasons have wrapped up for our boys.

Notmyopic took Samuel Zavala who hit .267/.420/.451 over 459 PAs for The Storm before getting promoted to The Tincaps. He struggled mightily in a small 56 PA sample size after the promotion, but his overall performance was good enough to crack MLB Pipeline's top 100 list.

We gave Henry Ethan Salas and he claimed Griffin Doersching for himself. Salas got off to a super impressive start with The Storm earning a promotion to The Tincaps. He got a less deserved promotion to The Missions and ended the season on the IL after a handful of games with them. Ultimately he did enough to get him ranked among the best prospects in the game in most publications.

Doersching had a decent year for The Storm and took it up a notch after a late season promotion to The Tincaps. Overall he hit .241/.362/.427 with 15 HRs in 449 PAs between the two levels. I think Henry would have been excited about both of them.

Fenn took Victor Lizarraga who spent the year in Fort Wayne and went 4-7 with a 4.09 ERA over 21 starts covering 95 innings.

Booster took Korry Howell. He had one of the most disappointing seasons in the system. After putting together an impressive .253/.390/.486 line over 184 PAs with The Missions last year he returned to San Antonio and managed only a .171/.274/.284  performance over 245 PAs

Jason took Adam Mazur who got off to a strong start in Fort Wayne and continued to perform reasonably well following a promotion to San Antonio. Between the two levels he went 6-4 with a 2.81 ERA over 96 innings.

Randy took Albert Fabian who had an .830 OPS with The Storm, but dropped to .619 with The Tincaps. His 2022 season followed a similar pattern.

MrP took Robby Snelling. I won't spend too much time here. I think most of us know he had a dominant year going from The Storm to The Tincaps to The Missions as a 19 year old.

I took Nerwilian Cedeno who missed a lot of time due to injury early and had a disappointing season with The Tincaps. I also tried to claim Jagger Haynes who pitched 25 innings for The Storm and is headed to the AFL.

Padscharg took Daniel Montesino who got 165 PAs in the complex league and put up a .653 OPS in his first season stateside.

Sportwarrior brought up Haynes and Lamar King. I covered Haynes already. King got 84 PAs in the complex league and hit .324/.441/.397

It was kind of a mixed bag for our personal picks. Fortunately for us the system as a whole had a very strong year.
