Around the League...non Padres

The two teams that got lambasted on MLB Network were the NYY and the LAD for not really doing anything to fix their perceived top needs.

Maybe a bit unfair with NYY, they do have the need for SP, but they have a farm system devoid of any big (and near term) prospects. Not sure what the could offer to get a big deal done. Either way, Houston's moves should bury NYY in the playoffs if the NYY can get past the AL Central champ. Sometimes going all in with your trade assets ... and falling short ... just gives a team no way to fix it.

LAD on the other hand did add the great Jedd Gyorko (on the IL). However, they did nothing to bolster their prime weakness in the pen to set up Janssen. They do have a lot of legit prospects. Maybe they are confident they can breeze though the NL playoffs and then a roll of the dice in the World Series ... might not have expected to go potentially against Verlander - Cole - Grienke in 6 of the 7 games.

After getting traded to SF, our buddy Alex Dickerson went on a hot streak that could have helped SD stay in the race this season. However, saw on MLBTR that he is back on his normal trend and back on the IL again with an oblique strain. Poor guy just can not stay healthy, the main reason his is not on SDs roster.

Saw that. Shame.

He's got the ability, just not the reliability.

Speaking of homers, Maton recalled by CLE

I just watched the replay of Muncy's game-winning double in the bottom of the 9th ... amazing how many empty seats there are at Dodger Stadium ... announced attendance (per boxscore) was 44,110 ... capacity of 56,000 ... I saw WAY more than 12,000 empty seats ... do they ALL just leave early every game no matter what?

Tickets Sold....not used

It was HOT today and Dodger Stadium has no shade

I could read about Mike Trout all day, every day 🙂
