I believe fans in general are way too impatient for younger players to establish themselves. What they said about Quantrill is probably what some are thinking about Weathers right now, going all the way back to the draft and saying they knew Matt Liberatore was going to be better even though the latter is currently struggling in AAA Memphis. Same with Gore - why haven't they traded him yet? Can we still get Adell for him? Is he going to be another Forrest Whitley (Astros) and fizzle out before he even makes it to the majors?
Fans have to realize that baseball, whether you are a pitcher or position player, is one of the most difficult games to play and adjusting to injuries and the mental stress of the game can do in even the top prospects or make relative unknowns soar. Let's give our minor leaguers a chance to make it and enjoy that they are doing the best the can under whatever circumstances they have to deal with.

Interesting you bring up mental stress Randy.
Listening to Eric Karros( PHHS class of '85- Go Patriots!)last night during the broadcast, he brought up just that when one of Arizona's young pitchers was struggling.
Even though this is a game we all played since we could walk, doing it for pay, in front of the entire world, must take some adjusting to.

Red Sox: Hunter Renfroe just a platoon player?
Heading into the season, most expected that Renfroe would be the starting right fielder against lefties and an occasional righty. After all, he was non-tendered by the Rays before the Red Sox got him for the modest price tag of $3 million for one year. However, Renfroe has emerged as a mainstay in manager Alex Cora’s lineup, starting 108 of Boston’s first 125 games. Renfroe has 22 homers, just one fewer than J.D. Martinez. The right-handed-hitting veteran has held his own against righties, belting 14 homers to go with a .755 OPS. Defensively, he’s been tremendous, leading the league with 14 outfield assists. -- Ian Browne

MILWAUKEE – The Cincinnati Reds saw their most reliable reliever squander a three-run lead in the seventh inning Tuesday and that wasn’t even the biggest gut punch.
Tejay Antone, on his first day back from the 10-day Injured List, winced after throwing a curveball on his fifth pitch and immediately called for a trainer. It was a short discussion as Antone handed the ball to manager David Bell and walked straight to the clubhouse.
Bell confirmed Antone felt something in his elbow, which is concerning for any pitcher. Antone missed the 2017 minor-league season because of Tommy John surgery.

I remember saying I thought he would thrive with that short LF.
I was thinking doubles peppering the wall...but he's just knocking them over the wall altogether.
