What would it take to get Laureano from Oak?

Imagine an OF of Soto-Laureano-Tatis….offensively and defensively.

Or even Soto-Grisham-Laureano defensively.

Im sorry, dont see how Laureano is enough of an upgrade over Grisham to spend any prospects on that trade.

Probably right….but,in Laureano’s only full season he was MUCH better than any season of Grisham’s.

He’s also cheap and there’s nothing wrong with having two gold glove outfielders.

Guess I still think he’s closer to the 2019 player than the last couple.

Not every player plays well when they miss so much time.

Is he "cheap" ... maybe salary-wise but if he is good OAK can easily hold out for a nice trade chip considering multiple teams need CF help in a poor FA market,

Wasn't he suspended for PED ... really want him near Tatis?

Yup big Droid guy

I still have SP as the top target to spend on ... one that can get them consistently 6 innings and pitch a full season.

Already have Snell, who still is a 5-inning guy ... Morejon or Martinez (if he signs) look more like 5-inning guys in 2023.

That is setting up to be a RP killer over 162 games if Suarez and Marinez are out of the pen (even if they are back). Think 2021. Worse if any of the top three SP hit the IL.

We already have 2 GG quality CFs in Grisham and Azocar. Julio Rodriguez is considered a plus CF. Azocar had just as many OAA as Rodriguez in just over 1/3 the playing time. Azocar was top 40 in OAA in the NL in 2022 even though he only had 202-AB.

Congrats to the Astros for winning the World Series!   If the Padres had beaten the Phillies, probably would have ended the same way because Houston has such a balanced and deep team.  Now, let the games (off-season!) begin!  I'm ready for a wild off-season ride that hopefully will make us better to compete for the big prize in 2023.

Houston lineup and P is very similar to Padres (with Tatis) .. I prefer our 6 7 8 9 hitters (lol our weakness) over theirs.. and is not even close.. BUT .. 1.Altuve/2. Jeremy/3. Alvarez/4. Bergman/5. Tucker is > than our current (or 2022) collectively.. Deeper and assuming Tatis/Soto/Manny.. TWO Bats ahead of us.. Crone is not top 5 (he is #6) if we want to match that .. so at least vs RHP I think.. 4.Joc 5. Drury 6. Crone gives us an even steven 1-5 with us having an edge 1-6... I dont think Bell/Drury does it.. and vs LHP with Joc out we would be a bit behind theirs..... They are going to suffer some FA loses (bigger than we are) so as long as we "add" the right pieces we should be able to put on a show bs them if we were to meet in WS 2023...

* Have a feeling we going to lose Profar (no biggie) and Suarez (biggie).. while keeping Martinez...

Need 2 BATS and perhaps a 3rd (bench Vet)

1 stud SP and a 2nd depth SP

BP Hader/Pomz/Garcia/Wilson/Hill/Cristmat/Morejon/Baez/Castillo/Cosgrove/Jakob/Lugo/Felipe/Wethers/Khner/Knerr/+++++

Looks deep and perhaps an area we can "trade inexperience/potential" for proven MLB piece or 2..

I think AJP needs to strike 1st and fast in FA.. something like Drury and Senga... which then sets up the rest of FA in our favor..If we wait and wait and pieces start falling as other teams sign players..we may have a repeat of 2022 when we did not addressed LF or CL.. lucky for us Profar had a career yr.. and AJP was able to get Rogers....last minute.. With more holes to fill this offseason ..we need to get ahead of the curve and then settle in and fill the roster

Interesting ..Padres #3.. Dodgers #5.. hmm

More I think about it.. Machado 3B..Kim SS.. Tatis 2B and Crone 1B might be the winning combo.. only Tatis in a different position ..Kim is GG at SS no need to move him off..Crone has plenty of 1B experience.. Tatis (- shift) will be a huge asset.. makes LF and DH the "Holes" to fill.. more options than 1B/DH.. and if a 1B is what we find ..then Tatis LF or RF it is.. basically AJP has options.
