2023 offseason

Seeing Corbin Burnes talk about his arbitration hearing is the latest reason I love Peter and AJ.

Add another SP to the ranks. SD agreeing to a MiL deal with Cole Hamels. The kid from RB gets the chance at a swan song with his childhood team.

Should be interesting to see if he has anything left in the tank during ST. Even if he is lights out, hard to see him making the team out of ST, with the other arms that we have.

AJ Preller is at it again....Padres and Cole Hamels have agreed on a minor league deal with an invite to the MLB camp.

Yes, from what I have heard, the actual hearing itself is fairly derogatory between the two sides. Its nice to know that SD doesnt put their players through this, versus MIL who argued over $750K difference for one the better SP in the league.

We now have tons of depth at the back end of the rotation.

As long as the top 3 stay healthy we will be fine.

One or two will surprise and pitch well at least.

Keep in mind era's should go up a little this year league wide.

We can't talk about hitters doing better due to the shift ban without the same adversely affecting the pitchers.

LHP Cole Hamels

RHP Teheran

Nice Veteran Depth at AAA if not more

Having 2 Vets like that around ST and in EP will also help the younger guys

Rare Campy interview I always keep thinking he was an Intl signing not a 2nd rd pick US born guy..

So I have heard now, from a couple of different spots, that Tatis is really interested in playing CF. So instead of Tatis in RF, could SD put him in CF, maybe with good performances in ST from Engel and Dahl, showing they, along with Carpenter can hold down RF/CF back up. And Grisham can become trade fodder for an upgrade at C?

Or with the lack of health in Tatis history, and past performance of Engel and Dahl, is it better to keep pat with Grisham?

I think Tatis needs to prove that he can be relied upon for a full season without injury, without suspension and with plus defense at the minimum in RF before we put him in CF and trade other OFs. I would stand pat with Grisham. I bet the Padres will too.

I said this wouldn't surprise me and now Salas about to play with the Big Boyz.. now I do believe he might start at LE...
