That and the fact that Xander has only played with Pomz and only been around Groome gives X another old buddy..comfort.

Pomeranz is dead money and I seriously doubt he will pitch any meaningful innings this year or ever for that matter and at this point has ZERO trade value.

Pomeranz is dead money and I seriously doubt he will pitch any meaningful innings this year or ever for that matter and at this point has ZERO trade value.

A good ST and he could be a coveted asset.. not saying we would get a kings ransom but AJP traded Shields for a lotto ticket (Tatis Jr) and Rodney (Paddack) so a trade for a "lotto ticket" would be awesome.. Obviously he needs healthy ST and sone signs of his old self along the next few weeks

That would open a roster spot but wouldn't help keep us under the CBT...depending on what we're giving Wacha but we have to be paying him what......$8mil?

Per AJ Cassavel on the Padres site, while the terms are not released yet, it could be up to a 4 year deal. With some different caveats such as opt outs, and in the case of an opt out, SD could have pre-set negotiations that would "override" opt outs.

Should be interesting how this deal details read.
