Garcia $3.5 and Pomz $8.5 mil.. are 2 pieces we could move ..Pomz probably after a healthy spring..Garcia at anytime..Crismatt has good value too (and no options left) so a lesser $$ play but definetely someone that could be moved.. keep in Mind C Severino $1.95 mil and P Teheran $6mil also have MLB deals in place if they make the 26

Good point and those incentive seem pretty achievable. Some (at some point) will have to go ... agree going over by a little is not all that strategic.

Side: no idea on what Engel is getting as a contract ... have they officially announced the signing?

I mean without looking it up any move for an upgrade at P / C or other at the Deadline even at 40% of their contract by then is likely to put us over (if not already over with bonuses etc)..so maybe the treshold is $300 mil.. which is like $14 mil + penalties away from $272,999,999.99 mil or 1 penny shy of $273...

Another issue will be paying replacements for players going to the IL (paid their contact) and paying the replacement at league minimum (or higher if in their contract). Expect at a minimum the equivalent of one player for a full season ($720MM) but expect more.
