Pirates in a 3 way could be interesting..

I see good metrics to work with here..

In a bold move would you trade Hader + Grish for Bednar and JT Brubaker ..

I dont think there is anyway that PIT takes Hader. They have no need for him. They are not going to contend this season, even in the NL Central, and Hader only has one year of control, and will make $13M+ this season via arb. And with the control and cost of Bednar, there is no way that PIT is giving him up at this point in time.

And as I mentioned in another comment, I dont think that PIT would  have much interest in Grisham either. I dont think he fits their window of contention. Plus, Grisham has just entered into arb as well, and will just get more expensive each year.

Still think there is potential for a 3 team deal with PIT, MIA, and SD. Thinking IF MIA can get Reynolds, SD can keep Grisham, and still wiggle either Brubaker or Luzardo out of the deal.

I had Hader ending up with Marlins in my 3 way ..brosky

Correa offseason WILD...

Glad he is out of the NL though

That a little better, still think its too much money for MIA, and still dont think that anyone will get Bednar out of PIT for at least two years, since he has not hit arb yet, and controlled through 2026. And even PIT should think that they are in contention by then.

Could NYY San Diego be a good match for Kim or Grish

I know I know their specs 2 of top 3 are SS.. But that D and say Perraza to 2B with Torres moving to Marlins in a SP package .. Volpe a yr or so away.. could be the perfect Bridge the gap player for NYY..Grish also fits in with low cost and left bat with pop..

Could we end up with Dominguez (CF-RF) almost ready Bo Jackson like 5 tools.. and Schdmidt?.. or lesser yet solid spec Pereira and the SP Marlins NYY gets..?

Or the same could free NYY to move Volpe or Peraza to acquire Reynolds..be it by acquiring SP from Other and flipping it to SD and Pitt..or as part of a more position heavy move to Pitt..Wells + Volpe + Wethers + Castillo + Schdmit to Pitt

Kim + Reynolds to NYY

Dominguez + JTB + Pereira to SD

Still got a good deal in years / AAV with vesting allowing to go longer.

Agree out of the NL is good for the Padres ... not the METS is a plus and not (as per a recent rumor) LAD coming in to play.

Not enough to Pitt (given their demands) and too much to SD given who they are giving up.

I would think that NYY would prefer Grisham to Kim, and Reynolds to Grisham. However, rumors I have heard is that NYY is unwilling to pay the price for Reynolds. So they would "settle" for Grisham, have seen those thoughts elsewhere, not sure what NYY would be willing to give up for Grisham. Plus, Grisham would give them back up for a possible departure of Bader, FA after this season.

We might be able to go Grisham to NYY. SD gets Schmidt and Jones OF prospect in A+ ball.

Or Hicks with NYY picking up all his $$ would work for me

Then again with Tatis and Soto as 2/3 of the OF you can start in LF and still be one of the best OF in the game offensively..

It appears the SP MIA is more interested in moving is Lopez ($8.5MM / 2 years control) ... keeping all the low cost / long control options unless overwhelmed in an offer (or one of the lesser options is moved).

That would be "tricky" for SD if only Grisham went in return and the $6MM difference puts the Padres at the next threshold. IF MIA is trying to lower payroll ... not going to take much in salary back. Not forced to deal Lopez ... and other options exist beyond the Padres. Plus MIA want ML help not prospects at this point.

I will assume that Grisham is the only trade chip that interests MIA ... and that is not enough to get either Lopez, Luzardo, or Cabrera ... would Preller "gamble" on adding Rogers (a rebound candidate) and Garrett (a quality prospect)? Both fit the low cost / long control profile and both could benefit 2023.

Is that "potential" a good gamble for 2023 and beyond vs. the gamble that the mass of remaining position players can cover that open OF slot? Guess that depends on the scouting / projection on Rogers / Garrett.

Pomz = $$ and Need (BP) + Grish = CF  upgrade + throw in Castillo as BP insurance in case Pomz breaks down and as another BP upgrade arm for the fish and Rosales (who is a nice 50 grade spec no matter if everyone here shits on him) and get Lopez to SD
