I'm not sure how we ever got through the Winter before 2015

I used to spend the off-season convincing myself that guys like Paul McAnulty, Cedric Hunter, James Darnell, Blake Tekotte, Tommy Medica and countless others were going to turn into star players. We've come a long way since then.

Speaking of which ..Willie Woods just got DFA..by Mets.. Interesting 23 yr old..3 pitch mix mid 90's velo.. a few injuries here and there. Has starting experience.. made MLB debut last yr 2 IP 0.00 ERA..

Hell for all we know Correa 1yr /$30mil with a 2 yr option 2/$60 or $5mil buyout..
Followed by: Kim + Mauricio Lugo AA to Marlins for Pablo Lopez (maybe a 3 way deal)
Do our buddy Boras a solid.. butter him up for Soto deal next offseason
Thinking out loud this might be > than spending $25,to $30 on Eovaldi/Cueto + a BAT.. sure we don't add a bat ..we replace one in this scenario BUT Boy do we UPGRADE that bat big time..

Reading an article on CBS 5 MLB contenders with glaring issues. Both ATL and SD were mentioned, with ATL glaring need a SS, and SD need being an additional SP. I think SD and ATL could help each other, and not create another hole in doing so with a trade.
SD gets Ian Anderson and Travis D'Arnaud. ATL gets Kim and Nola.
SD gets a buy low SP with controllable years, that could need a change of scenery, and an upgrade at C. ATL gets a low cost SS, whose bat will do well in ATL, and a less expensive back up C that wont have an issue playing "back up" to the newly acquired Murphy. SD may have to add a low level prospect to make ATL happy. Still this seems fair to me.
SD keeps Crone at 2B, and can use Carpenter at 1B giving SD another LH bat in the line up on a regular basis.
Then SD could sign Cesar Hernandez (SH) for back up INF and Gamel OF. And then maybe sign Voit if cheap enough for DH.
New line up could be, Tatis (R), Carpenter (L), Machado (R), Soto (L), Bogaerts (R), Crone (L), D'Arnaud (R), Grisham (L), Voit (R).
Bench of Hernandez, Gamel, Azocar, and Campusano.
Rotation of Darvish, Musgrove, Snell, Anderson, Martinez, Lugo.

I just knew that Rymer Liriano,Kellen Kulbacki and Kyle Blanks were going to be major league All Stars.
Injuries....and in this case Shoulder injuries... torpedoed many careers.

Of all you mentioned I really had high hopes for Cedric Hunter. Sigh.
